The Pan Asian Boxing Association, also known as PABA, is an organisation for professional boxing in the Central Asia, Oceania, Pan Pacific, Eurasia and Southeast and Far East nations. It was formed in 1995 and is headquartered in Seoul.

History

Since its inception in 1995 there have been over 800 sanctioned championship matches. [1] Twenty two PABA champions have eventually been crowned as WBA world champions in their respective division, whilst PABA has assisted 37 PABA champions' challenge to the WBA world title. [1] In March 2016, WBA voted at their annual convention to have WBA Oceania title to be the exclusive regional title for the Asia Pacific. Due to this, WBA discontinued their relationship with PABA. PABA created their own sanctioning body called the World Boxing Society.[ citation needed ] In 2018, PABA and their new sanctioning body WBS disbanded.

Maselino Francis Masoe Fao is a retired Samoan boxer who represented American Samoa at three Olympics starting with the 1988 Summer Olympics. As a professional, Masoe made history becoming the first Samoan boxer to win a major world title, defeating Kenyan born Evans Ashira on May 1, 2004 for the regular WBA world middleweight crown via second round Technical Knockout. He is the brother of rugby player Chris Masoe. Another brother, Mika, also represented American Samoa in boxing at the 1988 and 1992 Olympics.

Pornsawan Porpramook (Thai: พรสวรรค์ ป.ประมุข born in Ta Phraya District, Prachinburi Province is a Thai professional boxer in the minimumweight division and is a former WBA minimumweight champion. Porpramook has been also rated in the top ten by Ring Magazine at minimumweight until as of October 2011. Porpramook lost the title in his first defence against Japan's Akira Yaegashi via a tenth round technical knockout at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo on October 24, 2011. Porpramook fought again for the WBA minumumweight world title on December 31, 2012 against Ryo Miyazaki, where he lost by split decision.

The 2021 Sudirman Cup was the 17th edition of the Sudirman Cup, the biennial international badminton championship contested by the mixed national teams of the member associations of Badminton World Federation (BWF), since its inception in 1989. The tournament was played in Vantaa, Finland, between 26 September and 3 October 2021. China were the defending champions. They successfully defended their title, lifting the trophy for a record-extending 12th time.
