Patterson High School (formerly known as Patterson Park High School) is a public high school located in the Hopkins-Bayview neighborhood in Baltimore, Maryland, United States.
Patterson High School is a comprehensive high school with approximately 1200 students, grades nine through twelve. Patterson no longer operates as academies, but instead as a cohort model. Students are divided into cohorts based on their year of expected graduation.
Patterson is designated as the Career Center school for Baltimore's East Side. The school is a social emotional learning, student wholeness site that offers multiple pathways in Career and Technology Education (CTE); Patterson students take pathway courses during their tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grade years, in addition to Maryland State Graduation Requirements, University of Maryland Systems requirements, and a wide variety of elective courses. Patterson has a diverse student population. The ESOL Program has both Emergent and Newcomers Program and support for ESOL students throughout their integrated classes by offering mentoring and partnerships with Liberty's Promise and Refugee Youth Program.
In 2012 a Patterson student won first place in the Baltimore City Math Bowl. [2] [3]

Patterson High School gained media attention in 2022 when a report showed 75 percent of students tested at the school were reading and doing math at an elementary school level. The school's attendance rate was 59 percent, compared to the district average of 80 percent, and dropout rate was 29 percent, with a college enrollment rate of 21 percent, meaning "more students quit school than enroll in higher education". Maryland Governor Larry Hogan commented, "Baltimore City School system is not doing a great job educating the kids...I was disgusted by it". [4]
In 1993, Patterson, along with all the other Baltimore City public schools, left the Maryland Scholastic Association (MSA) to join the Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association (MPSSAA). The move meant that Baltimore City Public Schools would be able to compete with the rest of the state's public schools in a variety of sports arenas. Since the move, the Clippers have been to the state semi-finals in 1994, 1999, 2004 and to the quarter-finals in 1993, 1995, 1996, 1998 and 2001. [5]
M&T Bank Stadium is a multi-purpose football stadium located in Baltimore, Maryland. It is the home of the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League (NFL). The stadium is immediately adjacent to Oriole Park at Camden Yards, the home of the Baltimore Orioles. Often referred to as "Ravens Stadium" or "The Bank", M&T Bank Stadium officially opened in 1998 and has been praised for its fan amenities, ease of access, concessions and other facilities. As a Democrat, he was the 45th mayor of Baltimore from December 1971 to January 1987, the 58th Governor of Maryland from January 21, 1987, to January 18, 1995, and the 32nd Comptroller of Maryland from January 20, 1999, to January 17, 2007. On September 12, 2006, he was defeated in his reelection bid for a third term as Comptroller by Maryland Delegate Peter Franchot in the Democratic Party primary.
The Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, colloquially referred to as BPI, Poly, and The Institute, is a U.S. public high school founded in 1883. Established as an all-male manual trade / vocational school by the Baltimore City Council and the Baltimore City Public Schools, it is now a coeducational academic institution that emphasizes sciences, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). It is located on a 53-acre (21 ha) tract of land in North Baltimore on the east bank of the Jones Falls stream. BPI and the adjacent Western High School are located on the same campus.
Loyola Blakefield is a private Catholic, college preparatory school run by the USA East Province of the Society of Jesus in Towson, Maryland and within the Archdiocese of Baltimore. It was established in 1852 by the Jesuits as an all-boys school for students from Baltimore, Baltimore County, Harford County, Carroll County, Howard County, Anne Arundel County, and Southern Pennsylvania. It enrolls over 900 students in grades six through twelve. The school was originally called Loyola High School when it was established in 1852. The name change occurred when it added a middle school.

Fred Manfra is an American retired sportscaster, best known for radio and television broadcasts of the Baltimore Orioles. He has covered many other sports, including football, basketball, ice hockey, horse racing and the Olympics. He retired in May 2017 as a Baltimore Orioles sportscaster.

Edmondson-Westside High School is a public high school located in the southwest area known as Edmondson Village of Baltimore, Maryland, United States. The school is made up of two buildings, the Edmondson Building which is used primarily for Academic Studies, and the Westside Building which is used for Vocational and Technical Studies such as Culinary Arts, Child Care, Automotive, Media Technology, Computer Programming and Nursing. The Edmondson High building opened in September 1955, originally as Edmondson High School, a co-educational neighborhood comprehensive high school. The Westside Building several city blocks away, known originally as the Westside Skills Center, an independent separate school within the BCPS system, opened up in September 1980 to expand the high school, adding the former closed suburban branch of a local department store. Northwestern High School was a public high school located in Baltimore, Maryland, from 1965 to 2017. When it was built in 1965, it was racially integrated. The school's track and field teams from the 1970's and 1980's were some of the state's best, winning multiple MSA A Conference Championships.

Baltimore City Public Schools (BCPS), also referred to as Baltimore City Public School System (BCPSS) or City Schools, is a public school district in the city of Baltimore, state of Maryland, United States.
