Paula Andrea Díaz (born January 28, 1989) is a Uruguayan beauty pageant titleholder crowned Miss Universe Uruguay 2008. Díaz represented Uruguay in Miss Universe 2008. [1]
Miss Universe 2008, the 57th Miss Universe pageant, was held on 14 July 2008 at the Crown Convention Center in Nha Trang, Vietnam. Dayana Mendoza of Venezuela was crowned by Riyo Mori of Japan as her successor at the end of the event. 80 contestants competed in this year which was broadcast and distributed globally via NBC in English and Telemundo in Spanish to TV outlets in more than 180 countries. The pageant was watched by a live audience of 7,500 and nearly a billion television viewers worldwide.
In winning the Miss Universo Uruguay 2008 pageant, she received US$10,000, a motorcycle, a ticket to Miami, jewels and beauty treatments. In May, Díaz received an integral preparation in Colombia for her participation in Miss Universe 2008.
The Miss Universo Uruguay 2008 was held on March 29, 2008. There were 14 candidates for the national title. The winner represented Uruguay at Miss Universe 2008, Reina Hispanoamericana 2008 and Miss Continente Americano 2008. The first runner up entered Reinado Internacional del Café 2008. The Best Departemental Costume was used in Miss Universe.
