The Senior Cup is the prominent knockout competition for the Peterborough & District Football Association (PDFA). [1] According to the current rules of the competition, it is open to all clubs whose affiliation is with the PDFA and those affiliated to the Northamptonshire County Football Association that lie within 10 miles of Peterborough. The current holders are Oakham United who defeated Warboys Town 4-3 on penalties after the match ended 0–0 at London Road Stadium in Peterborough. [2]
The PDFA covers the town of Peterborough, Rutland, South Lincolnshire and parts of north west Cambridgeshire. For the purposes of the Senior Cup and other cup competitions, clubs affiliated to the Northamptonshire County Football Association that lie within 10 miles of Peterborough town centre are also included. [1] The Senior Cup was first competed in the 1980-81 season. [3]

Oakham is a market town and civil parish in Rutland in the East Midlands of England. The town is located 25 miles (40.2 km) east of Leicester, 28 miles (45.1 km) south-east of Nottingham and 23 miles (37.0 km) north-west of Peterborough. It had a population of 12,149 in the 2021 census. Oakham is to the west of Rutland Water and in the Vale of Catmose. Its height above sea level ranges from 325 to 400 ft.
Uppingham is a market town and civil parish in the ceremonial county of Rutland, England, off the A47 between Leicester and Peterborough, 6 miles (10 km) south of Oakham. It had a population of 4,745 according to the 2011 census, estimated at 4,853 in 2019.

A.F.C. Rushden & Diamonds is an English football club based in Rushden in Northamptonshire. They played their opening season at Kiln Park, the home of Raunds Town, in 2011–12 and subsequently shared the Dog & Duck ground with Wellingborough Town from July 2012 to the summer of 2017. A groundshare agreement with Rushden & Higham United was agreed for the 2017–18 season.
