Pier Pressure is the debut mixtape by British rapper ArrDee. It was released on 18 March 2022 through Island. It features guest appearances from Aitch, Lola Young, Russ Millions, Tion Wayne, Bugzy Malone, Fivio Foreign, E1 (3x3), ZT (3x3), Buni, Darkoo and Digga D. The reissue adds appearances from Black Sherif and Kyla.

Background

ArrDee, born Riley Davies, saw success being featured on the remix of Russ Millions and Tion Wayne's song "Body", which topped the charts in various countries including the UK. [1] He then released the single "Oliver Twist", referencing the book by Charles Dickens, which peaked at number six on the UK Singles Chart [2]

Singles

The first official single from Pier Pressure was "Flowers (Say My Name)", which samples the track of the same name by Sweet Female Attitude and "Say My Name" by Destiny's Child. [3] It was released on 11 November 2021 and peaked at number 5 on the UK Singles Chart, [4] spending thirteen weeks in the top 40, seventeen weeks in the top 100, with seven of those weeks being in the chart's top 10. [5]

On 3 February 2022, Davies released the second single, "War", featuring rapper Aitch. [6] [7] [8] "War" debuted at number 6 on the UK Singles Chart on 11 February 2022. [9]

On 4 March 2022, Davies released "Come & Go" as the third single from the mixtape. [10] [11]

Pier Pressure was released to generally positive reviews. [13] [15] [16] Clash magazine felt the rapper "cement[ed] his position within UK rap's upper echelons". [12] Sophie Williams, writing for NME felt Pier Pressure was "fresh" and "fierce". [14]

Promotion

In November 2021, Davies announced his first UK tour. [17]

A1 x J1 are a British hip hop duo. They released their debut single "Latest Trends" in February 2021, which charted at number 2 in the UK and was remixed by Aitch and A Boogie wit da Hoodie. Their second single "Baby" featured British singer and rapper Deno. They were also featured on the deluxe edition of KSI's album All Over the Place, and on the debut single by British rapper SwitchOTR, as well as recording a song for the Plugged In series by Fumez the Engineer.

Noughty by Nature is the third commercial mixtape by British rapper Digga D. It was released on 15 April 2022 by CGM. It features guest appearances from Still Brickin', Rack5, Dodgy, Horrid1, AJ Tracey, and Maverick Sabre, and American rappers B-Lovee, Moneybagg Yo, and Hotboii. The extended edition adds a further guest appearance from Arrdee. The mixtape debuted atop the UK Albums Chart, becoming Digga D's first number-one album.

ZieZie is a British rapper and singer from Croydon, London. He is best known for his single "Fine Girl" released in 2018 and for being featured in Aitch's "Buss Down" in 2019.
