Pierced from Within is the third album by the death metal band Suffocation, released in 1995. "Synthetically Revived" is a re-recording of the song of the same name from the Human Waste EP and "Breeding the Spawn" is a re-recording of the title track from the band's previous album.[ citation needed ]

Both this album and Effigy of the Forgotten have been re-released by Roadrunner Records as part of the Two from the Vault series.

Before 2013's Pinnacle of Bedlam , this was the only full-length album by Suffocation not to feature Mike Smith as a drummer.

It is the band's last album with guitarist Doug Cerrito and bassist Chris Richards, and the only with drummer Doug Bohn.

At 45 minutes and 31 seconds, Pierced from Within is the band’s longest album to date.

Suffocation is an American death metal band formed in 1988 in Centereach, New York, currently consisting of lead guitarist Terrance Hobbs, bassist Derek Boyer, rhythm guitarist Charlie Errigo, drummer Eric Morotti, and vocalist Ricky Myers. The band rose to prominence with their 1991 debut album Effigy of the Forgotten, which became a blueprint for death metal in the 1990s. Since then, Suffocation has recorded eight albums. These feature growled vocals with downtuned guitars, fast and complex guitar riffs and drumming, open chord notes and occasional breakdowns.

It was the band's first album with bassist Chris Richards, and their last to feature drummer Mike Smith for over a decade, until Souls to Deny (2004). Building off of the sound of Suffocation's debut album Effigy of the Forgotten (1991), it features more technical songwritng incorporating melodic and dynamic arrangements. The album was produced by Suffocation and Paul Bagin at Noise Lab in West Islip, New York. Suffocation originally planned to record the album in Florida with Effigy of the Forgotten producer Scott Burns, but were prevented from doing so by financial constraints and Roadrunner Records themselves, whose head of A&R, Monte Conner, wanted the band to return to the raw sound of their debut EP Human Waste (1991).

Despise the Sun is an EP by American death metal band Suffocation, released on January 6, 1998. It was the last recording before Suffocation's breakup, and the last to feature guitarist Doug Cerrito and bassist Chris Richards. It was the final album produced by Scott Burns, who had worked on Effigy of the Forgotten (1991) and Pierced from Within (1995), as he retired from the music industry after its recording in 1997. The EP was reissued on April 30, 2002 through Relapse Records.

Human Waste is the debut EP by death metal band Suffocation. It was released in May 1991 through Relapse Records, and was also the first ever CD to be released by Relapse. "Infecting The Crypts", "Mass Obliteration", and "Jesus Wept" were re-recorded on the following album, Effigy of the Forgotten. "Synthetically Revived" was also re-recorded on Pierced from Within and "Catatonia" was re-recorded for the Despise the Sun EP. The only track that has not been re-recorded is the title track, which was originally recorded for the demo Reincremated.

The Right to Rock is the second studio album by American rock band Keel. It was the first to be produced by Kiss's Gene Simmons under their new label Gold Mountain Records. When the band started recording the album, drummer Bobby Marks left. He was replaced by different drummers: Fred Coury, Barry Brandt and Steve Riley. Dwain Miller eventually became the band's permanent drummer right before the album was released. The band had only written three songs when the label sent them to the studio, therefore Keel covered three Gene Simmons demos and re-recorded three songs from their debut album – "Tonight You're Mine" was renamed to "You're the Victim " for this album.

Pinnacle of Bedlam is the seventh studio album by American death metal band Suffocation. It is the band's first full-length record since Pierced from Within to not feature Mike Smith, instead the album features returning drummer Dave Culross, making this his only full-length record with Suffocation and his first release overall with the band since 1998's Despise the Sun. Track 10, 'Beginning of Sorrow', is a re-recording of the track of the same name from the album Breeding the Spawn. It is also the band's last album with longtime guitarist Guy Marchais.
