Porotaka detrita is a species of Agelenidae that is endemic to New Zealand. ^[1]

Taxonomy

This species was described in 1973 by Ray Forster and Cecil Wilton from male and female specimens. The holotype is stored in Otago Museum. ^[1]

Description

The male is recorded at 2.57mm in length whereas the female is 3.15mm. The carapace and legs are straw yellow. The abdomen has a reddish brown marking dorsally. ^[1]

Distribution

This species is only known from Nelson, New Zealand. ^[1]

Conservation status

Under the New Zealand Threat Classification System, this species is listed as "Data Deficient" with the qualifiers of "Data Poor: Size", "Data Poor: Trend" and "One Location". ^[2]
