Prostomis mandibularis is a beetle of the family Prostomidae. [1] The beetle can be found in northern and eastern Europe, the Caucasus, Elbrus Mountains, and North America. [1]
Glaresis is a genus of beetles, sometimes called "Enigmatic scarab beetles", in its own family, the Glaresidae. It is closely related to, and was formerly included in, the family Scarabaeidae. Although its members occur in arid and sandy areas worldwide, only the nocturnal adults have ever been collected, and both the larvae and biology of Glaresis are as yet unknown. Due to their narrow habitat associations, a great number of these species occur in extremely limited geographic areas, and are accordingly imperiled by habitat destruction.
The Tenebrionoidea are a very large and diverse superfamily of beetles. It generally corresponds to the Heteromera of earlier authors.
Prostomidae is a family of beetles with no vernacular common name, though recent authors have coined the name jugular-horned beetles. They are often found in dead wood. The family consist of two extant genera with about 20 species. Prostomis americanus is known from North America. Other species of Prostomis are found in Europe, Africa, the Pacific region and East Asia. Species of Dryocora are known from New Zealand, Australia and Tasmania.
The family Pythidae is a small group of tenebrionoid beetles with no vernacular common name, though recent authors have coined the name dead log bark beetles. There are seven genera, which are largely native to the mid-high latitude regions of the Northern Hemisphere and Australia, with one genus also present in the tropical Americas. The larvae are generally found with decaying vegetation and wood on which they feed, while adults are not associated with the larvae and are generally caught using malaise traps and light traps.
Hexarthrius is a genus of large stag beetles. They are also known as fork horned stag beetles for the shape for their mandibles It includes the following species:
Hexarthrius mandibularis is one of the world's largest stag beetle. It belongs to the tribe Lucanini, in the family Lucanidae.
Cryptocharidius is a genus of ground beetles in the family Carabidae. This genus has a single species, Cryptocharidius mandibularis.
Dendrobias mandibularis is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae. It was described by Dupont in 1834.
Nebria mandibularis is a species in the beetle family Carabidae, found in Turkey and Iran.
The Oxytelinae are a subfamily of the Staphylinidae, rove beetles. There are about 20 genera and at least 320 described species in Oxytelinae.
Tetraopes is a genus of longhorn beetles of the subfamily Lamiinae, tribe Tetraopini, containing the following species:
Rosenbergia mandibularis is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae. It was described by Coenraad Ritsema in 1881.
Tetraopes mandibularis is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae. It was described by Chemsak in 1963. It is known from the United States.
Rhagonycha mandibularis is a species of soldier beetles in the family Cantharidae. It is found in North America.
Gymnoganascus is a genus of ant-like leaf beetles in the family Aderidae. There is one described species in Gymnoganascus, G. stephani. The distribution range of Gymnoganascus stephani includes the Caribbean, Central America, and North America.
Tetratoma is a genus of polypore fungus beetles in the family Tetratomidae. There are about 25 described species in Tetratoma.
Bledius mandibularis is a species of spiny-legged rove beetle in the family Staphylinidae. It is found in the Caribbean Sea and North America.
Sparedrus is a genus of false blister beetles in the family Oedemeridae. There are more than seven described species in Sparedrus.
Ganascus is a genus of ant-like leaf beetles in the family Aderidae. There are at least two described species in Ganascus.
Prostomis is a genus of beetles in the family Prostomidae.
