Qasem Khel or Qasem Kheyl is a village in Logar Province, in eastern Afghanistan. [1] It lies about 50 kilometres northeast of Gardez and 80 kilometres southeast of Kabul. [2]
Fossiliferous Permian sequences have been described at Qasim Khel, Ali Khel and at Jalalabad and Altimur (Altamur) by Kaever (1965, 1967) and Weippert et al. (1970). [2]
The Mohmand or Momand tribe is one of the most prominent Pashtun tribes. They are descended from the 1st Son of Daulatyar and 2nd son, Daudzai, according to Pashtun historical literature. The Nangar Khel incident, sometimes called the Nangar Khel massacre, took place in the Afghan village of Nangar Khel on August 16, 2007. A few hours after an insurgent IED ambush which damaged Polish wheeled armored vehicle, a patrol of Polish soldiers from the elite 18th Airborne-Assault Battalion taking part in the International Security Assistance Force opened heavy machine gun and 60 mm mortar fire at the area of the village. The attack resulted in the deaths of six civilians, including a pregnant woman and three children, and seriously injured three other women.

The exact population number of this clan is not known; however, it is estimated to be around 2 million all around the world The population of this tribe primarily lives in Pakistan and Afghanistan. 85 % live in Pakistan and about 1% or 2% live in Afghanistan and remaining 13% lives in England, Germany, United Arab Emirates, China, Malaysia, Canada and United States of America.
Operation Halmazag was an offensive operation by ISAF German-led troops in close cooperation with the Afghan security forces in the province of Kunduz, from 31 October to 4 November 2010, with the aim of building a permanent outpost near the village of Quatliam in the Char Dara district, south-west of Kunduz. The operation was the first German military ground offensive since World War II.
Operation Omari, also called the Spring Offensive, is an offensive launched by the Taliban against the Afghan government in Afghanistan. Its start was announced on 12 April 2016. The Taliban made their yearly spring offensive announcement on April 12, 2016. They named the offensive in honor of the movement's late leader. The announcement of Operation Omari includes details on how the members of the group should present themselves in public. The aim of the Operation is considered ambitious and its focus is on clearing the remaining areas from enemy control and presence. Unlike offensive announcements from previous years this announcement contained details about specific targets that would be attacked during the operation. The targets were stated in general terms with reference only to "large scale attacks on enemy positions across the country, martyrdom-seeking and tactical attacks against enemy strongholds, and assassination of enemy commanders in urban centers."
