Quiet Is the New Loud received mostly positive reviews from contemporary music critics. At Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, the album received an average score of 71, based on 11 reviews, which indicates "generally favorable reviews". [1] Caroline Hennessy of RTÉ was quoted saying that "If quiet is indeed the new loud then Eirik and Erlend are on to a sure winner. A bittersweet pop album to wrap yourself up in when the world feels like a scary place." [8]

The Whitest Boy Alive is a German-Norwegian musical group based in Berlin. It was originally active from 2003 to 2014; after a five-year hiatus, the group reformed in 2019. The band is composed of singer and guitarist Erlend Øye of Kings of Convenience, bassist Marcin Öz, drummer Sebastian Maschat, and Daniel Nentwig on Rhodes piano and Crumar.

Skog was a rock band from Bergen which formed in the early 1990s and folded at the end of the same decade. The group consisted of Anders Waage Nilsen, Øystein Gjærder Bruvik, Eirik Glambek Bøe and Erlend Øye. The latter two later found success as the duo Kings of Convenience. The band released in 1996 the EP Tom Tids Tale, which consisted of four songs, plus a cover song of Joy Division's The Eternal on a compilation. In 2006, Anders Waage Nilsen, Øystein Gjærder Bruvik and Eirik Glambek Bøe got back together to form the band Kommode.

Quarantine at El Ganzo is a joint solo album by European musicians Sebastian Maschat and Erlend Øye, both members of the German-Norwegian dance-rock band The Whitest Boy Alive. It was recorded spontaneously during the COVID-19 pandemic at the Hotel El Ganzo in Mexico, after a planned recording session for new The Whitest Boy Alive material had to be abandoned due to the pandemic. It was released digitally on 31 July 2020 on Bubbles Records, the indie label set up by Erlend Øye and Marcin Öz in 2006.

<i>Peace or Love</i> 2021 studio album by Kings of Convenience

Peace or Love is the fourth studio album by Norwegian indie folk-pop duo Kings of Convenience. Released on 18 June 2021, it is their first album in 12 years. It features two song collaborations with Canadian musician Feist. It was preceded by two singles: "Rocky Trail" and "Fever".
