The FM broadcast band is a range of radio frequencies used for FM broadcasting by radio stations. The range of frequencies used differs between different parts of the world. In Europe and Africa and in Australia and New Zealand, it spans from 87.5 to 108 megahertz (MHz) - also known as VHF Band II - while in the Americas it ranges from 88 to 108 MHz. The FM broadcast band in Japan uses 76 to 95 MHz, and in Brazil, 76 to 108 MHz. The International Radio and Television Organisation (OIRT) band in Eastern Europe is from 65.9 to 74.0 MHz, although these countries now primarily use the 87.5 to 108 MHz band, as in the case of Russia. Some other countries have already discontinued the OIRT band and have changed to the 87.5 to 108 MHz band.

Radio Televisyen Malaysia, also known as the Department of Broadcasting, Malaysia is the national public broadcaster of Malaysia. Established on 1 April 1946 as Radio Malaya, it is the first and the oldest broadcaster in the country. After Malaysia was formed on 16 September 1963, Radio Malaya was renamed Radio Malaysia. On 28 December that year, television service in Malaysia began with the establishment of Televisyen Malaysia. In 1969, Radio Malaysia and Televisyen Malaysia merged to form the present-day broadcast department. RTM employs over 4,000 staff in total, with a larger part of them are in public-sector broadcasting.
Selangor FM is a regional Malay language-radio station operated by Radio Televisyen Malaysia out of the Selangor state station in Angkasapuri. Broadcasts are daily from 06:00 until 00:00 featuring local news as well as Malay and international music. It transmits on FM 100.9 MHz from the Gunung Ulu Kali transmitter site and can be heard in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, the northern part of Negeri Sembilan, the southern part of Perak and the western part of Pahang. It also can be heard using rtmklik application in mobile phone.
Melaka FM is a regional Malay language radio station operated by Radio Televisyen Malaysia out of the state capital of Malacca, Malaysia. Transmissions started in 1946 from the Stadthuys building. Broadcasts are daily in Malay from 06:00 to 00:00 featuring local news and Malaysian music. It transmits on FM 102.3 MHz from Gunung Ledang. The Melaka FM transmissions were formerly on AM 1008 kHz, until 2002. It can be received statewide as well as in some parts of Johor, Negeri Sembilan, south west Pahang and part of Selangor.
THR is a defunct radio channel in Malaysia. It was the first private commercial radio station in the country, having based in the capital of Kuala Lumpur.

Red FM is a defunct Malaysian English language-private radio station that used to broadcast across Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore. It was managed by Star Media Radio Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of Star Publications (M) Bhd. Red FM began broadcasting on 1 September 2001 and was one of Malaysia's top five English radio stations.
Capital FM launched in 2013 by a team led by Jamal Hassim, a Malaysia-based media entrepreneur, together with a group of influential investors. Its headquarters and studios were uniquely located in the Concord Hotel Atrium in downtown Kuala Lumpur. It was a radio network that pitched programming for listeners in the Klang Valley, the first Malaysian urban focused station. It then merged with the Rediffusion Group and the network was then repositioned to address urban female listeners and marketed as the destination of choice for stylish, thinking women, target 25–34 years old, living in the city and other urban areas in Malaysia.
988 FM is a Malaysian Chinese-language radio station. Its broadcast area covers West Malaysia and Singapore. It is managed by Star Media Radio Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of Star Media Group Berhad. 988 FM began broadcasting in 1996 as a trilingual radio station, with 50% Chinese content and became a fully-fledged radio station in December 1997. The station aims to relect and cater to the different Chinese-speaking cultures of Malaysia.

Radio Thailand Satun is a Thailand government radio station which is owned by the Public Relations Department. It broadcasts in Satun Province, parts of Trang Province, Songkhla Province and Phatthalung Province. It can be received in Malaysia in places such as Perlis, Langkawi, northern Kedah and Penang. Radio Thailand Satun broadcasts on two FM frequencies and one AM frequency with 1 kW and 10 kW transmitter power output respectively. It provides information, knowledge and entertainment to the listeners.
CITYPlus FM is a Chinese business radio station catered for primary Chinese-speaking PMEBs and SMEs in Malaysia. It is owned by Ooga X Sdn Bhd. The radio started its trial transmission in Kuching since 24 April 2016 on FM 92.5 MHz. Another trial transmission was aired in Seremban on FM 106.0 MHz by launching a transmitter in Gunung Telapak Buruk. On 2 May 2017, the radio was officially launched in the areas, meanwhile Kuching FM 92.5 MHz was rebranded as the third radio station. Its frequency for Klang Valley was formerly carried by Red FM before June 2009.
