Nawada district is one of the thirty-eight districts of the Indian state of Bihar. Nawada is its administrative headquarters. The district is the easternmost district of the Magadh division, one of the nine administrative divisions of Bihar. The area of the modern district was historically part of the Magadha, Shunga and Gupta empires. Koderma and Giridih districts of the state of Jharkhand lie on the southern border of the district; it also shares borders with the Gaya, Nalanda, Sheikhpura, and Jamui districts of Bihar.

As of April 2017 there are two regular trains linking Indore with Patna; they are numbered 19313 and 19321. The Digha–Sonpur bridge or J. P. Setu is a rail-cum-road bridge across river Ganga, connecting Digha Ghat in Patna and Pahleja Ghat in Sonpur. Patna Metro is a rapid transit system currently under construction in the city of Patna in Bihar, India. It will be owned and operated by the state-run Patna Metro Rail Corporation. In the first phase, five stations of Patna Metro will be operational first by March 2025. It is being constructed under a Public Private Partnership mode and is estimated to cost ₹13,365.77 crore (US$1.7 billion). This cost is excluding land acquisition cost, which is to be borne by the Bihar government. The first phase: the east–west corridor and north–south corridor will consist of a 23.30 km elevated track and 16.30 km underground track.

Apart from being used for cricket, the sports complex is also being developed in a way so it can also be used for other sports as well like football.
