Shikao Suga is a Japanese musician and singer-songwriter from Tokyo known for writing the theme songs for several anime, movies and commercial ads. His name in kanji is 菅 止戈男. He uses katakana as his professional name.
KAT-TUN is a Japanese boy band formed under Johnny & Associates (Johnny's) in 2001. The group's name was originally an acronym based on the first letter of each member's family name: Kazuya Kamenashi, Jin Akanishi, Junnosuke Taguchi, Koki Tanaka, Tatsuya Ueda, and Yuichi Nakamaru. Their debut on March 22, 2006 was marked by a tripartite release of a CD single, album and music DVD on their exclusive record label J-One Records. Since then, all of their single, album and music DVD releases have debuted at number one on the Oricon music and DVD charts.
Shūji to Akira was a special temporary unit formed by KAT-TUN member Kazuya Kamenashi and NEWS member Tomohisa Yamashita for their 2005 drama Nobuta o Produce. Shūji (修二) and Akira (彰) are the names of the characters Kamenashi and Yamashita play in the drama respectively. Although the drama has long finished on television, the duo have revived their performance of their song "Seishun Amigo" numerous times. In 2017, they formed another special temporary unit, Kame to Yamapi, for their 2017 drama Boku, Unmei no Hito desu.

Included in the single are two new songs each featuring two pairs; Taguchi Junnosuke and Nakamaru Yuichi / Kamenashi Kazuya and Ueda Tatsuya. The last time the group featured duets in a release was during their debut album “Best of KAT-TUN”. The unit songs are titled Kirarito and Arigatou with the members writing the lyrics for their songs.
