Rick Avery is an American stuntman, stunt coordinator, actor, director and author. [1] [2] He has worked on more than 400 films and television projects, including The Crow , The Prestige , The Dark Knight Rises , Gangster Squad , and American Sniper . [3] [4] He is also notable for having doubled for Robert De Niro, Dustin Hoffman, Richard Gere and John Travolta. [5]

Life and career

Rick was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army, and a Santa Barbara Metro Police Officer. [7] He has three children; Dianne, Brian, and Mike, his sons also work as stunt performers. [2] He is also a four-time master's world boxing champion. [8]

Rick's directorial credits include The Expert and Deadly Outbreak , both released in 1995. [9] [10] His acting credits include Heat , Edge of Darkness , Ant-Man and Hands of Stone . [11]

ActionFest was an annual film festival in Asheville, NC, started by Carolina Cinemas and Magnolia Pictures founder Bill Banowsky and action director/producer Aaron Norris, along with Dennis Berman and Tom Quinn. ActionFest was the first film festival in the world devoted exclusively to action film. It was also the only film festival in the world that honoring stunt performers, filling a void caused by the decision of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences not to recognize stunt men and stunt women in its Academy Awards. ActionFest's stated mission was to "recognize, honor and appreciate the remarkable efforts of these amazing people who risk their lives every day to make Hollywood films look exciting and great."

Ric Roman Waugh is an American film director, writer, producer, actor, and former stuntman. He is known for his work in Felon (2008), Snitch (2013), and Shot Caller (2017). He wrote and directed Angel Has Fallen (2019), the third installment in the Has Fallen series and will write and direct Night Has Fallen, the fourth installment in the Has Fallen series.
