Rise is the tenth album by the Finnish rock band The Rasmus, released on 23 September 2022. [1] It is their first album after five years of inactivity, as a continuation of their previous album Dark Matters (2017).
Following the Dark Matters tour, the band held a series of concerts to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the release of their breakthrough album Dead Letters . Before the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, they released the heavily pop-influenced "Holy Grail". Subsequently, two more songs were released during the pandemic, "Bones" in early 2021 and "Venomous Moon" at the end of the year, another collaboration with Apocalyptica. They have previously collaborated on "Life Burns!" and "Bittersweet".
At the beginning of 2022, the band's founder and lead guitarist Pauli Rantasalmi announced his departure. [2] Emilia "Emppu" Suhonen was announced as his replacement, adding a female member to the line-up. The band later competed in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 with "Jezebel", after winning the Finnish national selection. At Eurovision, the band qualified for the final by finishing in 7th place in their semi-final, and ultimately finished in 21st place. [3] According to the band's fans, "Jezebel" is reminiscent of the band's peak of popularity between 2003 and 2008, which they attributed to the involvement of producer Desmond Child, [4] with whom the Black Roses album was recorded in 2008. The album's title track, "Rise", was released on 10 June 2022.

The Rasmus is a Finnish rock band that formed in 1994 in Helsinki while the band members were in upper comprehensive school. The original band members were Lauri Ylönen, Eero Heinonen (bass), Pauli Rantasalmi (guitar) and Jarno Lahti (drums). Jarno Lahti left the year after and was replaced by Janne Heiskanen in 1995. Heiskanen quit the band in 1999 and was soon replaced by Aki Hakala. Pauli Rantasalmi left the band and was replaced by guitarist Emilia "Emppu" Suhonen in 2022. Best known for their 2003 hit single "In the Shadows", the band has sold over 5 million albums worldwide and 350,000 albums in Finland alone, and has won numerous awards, both domestic and international. The band represented Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 with the song "Jezebel".
Killer was a rock band founded in 1999 in Helsinki, Finland. Although Killer was a quartet, vocalist Siiri Nordin was by far the most visible member.

Tiktak, also known as Tik N' Tak, was a Finnish music group consisting of six musicians from northern Helsinki. The band was formed in Pohjois-Helsingin Bändikoulu and signed to Universal Music in 1999, when the youngest members were 13. The album immediately replaced Metallica's Death Magnetic on the top spot of the Finnish Album Charts and went gold after one week. As of 2009, total of over more than 400,000 copies of the album have been sold worldwide.

The album contains the best songs between 2001 and 2009. While most of the songs were already released, it features a new unreleased song called "October & April" which features vocals by Anette Olzon from Nightwish. This song was recorded during the same time as the other songs from the band's latest studio album Black Roses, but wasn't included as it didn't follow the album concept.

The song represented Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022, held in Turin, Italy, in May 2022, opening the second semi-final on 12 May. It won the 2022 edition of Finland's annual Eurovision song selection competition, Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu, on 26 February 2022 with a total of 310 points. The single reached number four in Finland.
