Ronald ("Ron") Ferdinand Zwerver (born 6 June 1967) is a volleyball coach and former volleyball player from the Netherlands who represented his native country in three consecutive Summer Olympics, starting in 1988 in Seoul. Zwerver was one of the dominant forces in Dutch volleyball in the 1990s. [1] [2] He was selected as the "best attacker" at both the 1990 and 1994 FIVB World Championships. [2]
Zwerver was a member of the Dutch team that won the silver medal in the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, where he was selected as the "best server", and the gold medal in the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. [2] [3]
In 2017, Zwerver was inducted into the International Volleyball Hall of Fame. [2]
Zwerver coached Nesselande, a team that plays in the highest Dutch volleyball league. [1] He has also served as an assistant coach for the Oregon State University women's volleyball team. [2]
Charles Frederick "Karch" Kiraly is an American volleyball player, coach, and broadcast announcer. He was a central part of the U.S National Team that won gold medals at the 1984 and 1988 Olympic Games. He went on to win the gold medal again at the 1996 Olympic Games, the first Olympic competition to feature beach volleyball. He is the only player to have won Olympic medals of any color in both the indoor and beach volleyball categories. He played college volleyball for the UCLA Bruins, where his teams won three national championships under head coach Al Scates. Kiraly is widely regarded as the greatest male volleyball player of all time.

Andrea Zorzi is an Italian former volleyball player, won two World Championships with the Italy men's national volleyball team. A 201 cm athlete, Zorzi was an effective spiker who played as an opposite hitter. He was popularly known as "Zorro". In 1991, he was declared World's Best Player by the FIVB. In 2024, Zorzi was inducted into the International Volleyball Hall of Fame.

Mirka Francia Vasconcelos, more commonly known as Mirka Francia, is a Cuban-Italian retired volleyball player who won two Olympic gold medals with the Cuban women's national volleyball team. At 1.84 m (6 ft) tall, she played as a middle blocker before transitioning to an outside hitter later in her career.

She is the daughter of Internacional coach and ex-volleyball player Teun Buijs, who trained her for several clubs in her career. Her mother and older brother were also volleyball players. On March 2, 2023, Buijs married Ana Carolina Da Silva, her long-time partner who plays as a middle blocker of Brazil Women's Volleyball National Team.

Michelle Bartsch-Hackley is an American professional volleyball player for the United States women's national volleyball team. She played collegiate volleyball with the University of Illinois Fighting Illini from 2008 to 2011. She won gold with the national team at the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics.
