Rossville is an unincorporated community in Allamakee County, Iowa, United States. [1]
Rossville was platted in 1855. It is named for William F. Ross, said to be the first settler on the townsite in 1850. [2] By the 1880s, Rossville contained three churches, a schoolhouse, hotel, and two stores. [3]
Allamakee County is the northeasternmost county in the U.S. state of Iowa. As of the 2020 census, the population was 14,061. Its county seat is Waukon.
Bear Creek, also known as Bear Hollow Creek, is a 6.3-mile-long (10.1 km) tributary of the Yellow River of Iowa, originating in Jefferson Township, near Rossville in Allamakee County. It parallels Allamakee County Road X26. It enters the Yellow River near Volney, approximately where the state of Iowa maintains the Yellow River Valley Canoe and Heritage Trail in Allamakee County.

Although Dorchester is unincorporated, it has a post office, with the ZIP code of 52140, which opened on 21 May 1857. Dorchester is located in Waterloo Township.
