Rowley Douglas MBE (born 27 January 1977 in Washington, D.C., United States) is a coxswain and Rowing (sport) Olympic champion for Great Britain.
Douglas won a gold medal in the eight at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney as a member of the British rowing team. [1] In the Olympic final the British crew took an early lead and were only challenged towards the very end of the race.
Douglas coxed a variety of national team boats before taking the senior position with the national men's eight at the start of 1999. In the same year the crew won a silver medal at the World Rowing Championships. When in 2000 they won two rounds of the World Rowing Cup the eight began to be ranked amongst the favourites for the Olympics. [2]
Douglas's last major championship appearance was in 2001.
He came out of retirement in 2010 in anticipation of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, but a proposed trial at the Team GB training camp in Varese, Italy was scrapped by British Rowing.[ citation needed ] Douglas appealed the decision but his claim was rejected. [3]
Douglas was appointed an MBE (Order of the British Empire) in the 2001 New Year Honours List. [4]
He has held a number of senior roles across the financial services industry, including working for the financial services arm of General Electric.[ citation needed ] As of 2017, he works as Vice President for North America for CloudSense, a US technology company. [5]
Douglas was educated at Monkton Combe School, an independent school in Somerset, UK, and at Oxford Brookes University, where he read Technology Management.

Stephen Patrick Trapmore is an English rowing coach and former rower who represented Great Britain at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. He is currently the High Performance Coach within the Great Britain Olympic Rowing programme, developing athletes and crews to compete at World and Olympic competition.
Martin Sauer is a German former representative rowing coxswain. He was an eight-time world champion at the senior level and three-time underage world champion. He is a triple Olympian and a triple Olympic medallist. He held his seat as coxswain of the German senior men's eight — the Deutschlandachter — constantly from 2009 to 2021 and steered that crew to their six world championship titles and also when at the 2017 World Rowing Cup II they set a world's best time of 5.18.68, which still the standing world mark as of 2021.

Paul Anthony Thompson MBE is an Australian elite level rowing coach and former rower. As a rower he was an Australian under-age champion, won a silver medal at the 1985 U23 World Championships and rowed in senior King's Cup eights for both South Australia and New South Wales. He has coached Australian and British crews to World Championship titles and Olympic medals including taking Kate Slatter and Megan Still to Australia's first women's Olympic rowing gold at Atlanta 1996. By 2012 he was Great Britain's head coach for women and lightweights and took British crews to three gold and two silver medals at London 2012. Since 2022 he has been Rowing Australia's High Performance Director.
