Matthew Anthony William Gotrel (born 1 March 1989) is a British rower.
At the 2014 World Rowing Championships in Bosbaan, Amsterdam he was a member of the gold medal-winning eight with Nathaniel Reilly-O'Donnell, Matthew Tarrant, Will Satch, Pete Reed, Paul Bennett, Tom Ransley, Constantine Louloudis and Phelan Hill. [2] The following year this was repeated when he was part of the British team that topped the medal table at the 2015 World Rowing Championships at Lac d'Aiguebelette in France, where he won a gold medal as part of the eight with Louloudis, Reed, Bennett, Moe Sbihi, Alex Gregory, George Nash, Satch and Hill. He won a gold medal in the men's eight event at the 2016 Summer Olympics. [4] [5]
Gotrel was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2017 New Year Honours for services to rowing. [6]
Jürgen Heinz Lothar Gröbler OBE is a German rowing coach, formerly the Olympic team coach of East Germany and later of Great Britain. He coached crews to medals at ten Olympiads from 1972 to 2016, with the exception of the 1984 Games, which were boycotted by Eastern Bloc countries.

Hamish Bryon Bond is a retired New Zealand rower and former road cyclist. He is a three-time Olympic gold medallist at the 2012 London Olympic Games, the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games, and at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. He won six consecutive World Rowing Championships gold medals in the coxless pair and set the current world best times in both the coxless and coxed pair. He made a successful transition from rowing to road cycling after the 2016 Summer Olympics, focussing on the road time trial and winning a medal at the Commonwealth Games. He returned to rowing for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, winning a gold medal in the men's eight. In 2024 he was a cyclor in the Team New Zealand team which successfully defended the America's cup.

He won a gold medal in the coxless four at 2016 Rio Olympics, and at the 2012 London Olympics he was in the British crew that won the bronze medal in the men's eight.
