Ioan Florariu (born 13 January 1979 in Bucecea) is a Romanian rower.
Alexandru Ioan Cuza was the first domnitor (Ruler) of the Romanian Principalities through his double election as prince of Moldavia on 5 January 1859 and prince of Wallachia on 24 January 1859, which resulted in the unification of both states. He was a prominent figure of the Revolution of 1848 in Moldavia. Following his double election, he initiated a series of reforms that contributed to the modernization of Romanian society and of state structures.
Ioan Gruffudd is a Welsh actor. He first came to public attention as Fifth Officer Harold Lowe in Titanic (1997), and then for his portrayal of Horatio Hornblower in the Hornblower series of television films (1998–2003). Ioan Igna is a Romanian former football referee and player. Igna played football at UTA Arad between 1957 and 1960 and 1964–1967 and at Știința Timișoara between 1961 and 1964, he became a referee in 1972. He is known for having refereed two matches in the 1986 FIFA World Cup in Mexico, including an epic quarter-final match between Brazil and France. Igna made two controversial calls during the tie. In the second period of extra time, he did not penalise a foul by the Brazil goalkeeper Carlos on France attacker Bruno Bellone. BBC commentator Jimmy Hill described Igna's decision to ignore the foul by Carlos as "an extreme mistake". In the penalty shootout, he awarded a goal when Bellone's shot hit the post and the ball rebounded off Carlos before entering the goal. The laws of the game were subsequently amended to specifically address the situation that occurred in the penalty shootout.

The Năstase Cabinet was a cabinet of ministers led by Adrian Năstase that governed Romania from 28 December 2000 to 29 December 2004 during the third term of President Ion Iliescu. Ioan "Părintele" Sdrobiș is a Romanian former football manager. As a manager Sdrobiș was well known for promoting young players in the teams he trained and to be a team maker, hence the nickname, Părintele. Sdrobiș managed historical clubs in Romania as: Oțelul Galați, Selena Bacău, Universitatea Cluj, Ceahlăul Piatra Neamț, CSM Reșița and Jiul Petroșani among others. Sdrobiș is also known for making Cristian Chivu CSM Reșița's captain when he was still a very young player, giving him much confidence.
