Jacob Dawson (born 2 November 1993) is a British representative rower. [1] He is a world champion and an Olympic bronze medallist with both those titles won in the Great Britain men's eight.
Dawson was introduced to rowing at age 14 at the Start Centre in his hometown of Plymouth, England. [1] His early club rowing was from the Plymouth Amateur Rowing Club. [2] He attended the Plymstock Secondary School.
Following his success at the Coupe de la Jeunesse in 2011, Dawson was offered a place at the University of Washington. [1] He studied Geography and participated in their senior rowing program. He raced in the Huskies 1st varsity eight in three of his four racing seasons at the university and was team captain in his senior year. [3]
Since making the senior British representative squad in 2017, Dawson's club rowing has been from Leander Club. In 2023, he won the Grand Challenge Cup (the blue riband event at the Henley Royal Regatta) rowing in a composite Leander/Oxford Brookes eight . [4]
Dawson first represented for Great Britain at the 2011 Coupe de la Jeunesse where he won two events in a quad scull. [1]
Following completion of his studies at the University of Washington, Dawson was selected in the senior Great Britain representative squad in 2017. He started in a coxless pair for World Rowing Cup I but by WRC II he'd moved in the men's eight. In that crew he placed seventh at the 2017 World Rowing Championships [5]
In 2018 Dawson rowed in the British men's coxless four and in that boat he won a bronze medal at the 2018 World Rowing Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, with Thomas Ford, Adam Neill and James Johnston. [6]
2019 saw Dawson back in the five seat in the British men's eight. He won a silver medal in the eight at the 2019 European Rowing Championships, [7] and then won bronze at the 2019 World Rowing Championships in Ottensheim, Austria rowing with Thomas George, James Rudkin, Josh Bugajski, Moe Sbihi, Oliver Wynne-Griffith, Matthew Tarrant, Thomas Ford and Henry Fieldman. In 2021, he won a European gold medal in the eight in Varese, Italy. [9] [10] At that year's delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympics he rowed in the two seat of the Great Britain men's eight. They finished 3rd in their heat but proceeded through a repechage to make the Olympic final. In the final they rowed level with the ultimate winner New Zealand at each mark but finished with a bronze medal being pipped for silver in the last 500m by the fast finishing Deutschlandachter. [5]
Dawson became a world champion from the bow seat of the British eight at the 2023 World Rowing Championships. [11] In that crew he had earlier won gold that season at the 2023 European Rowing Championships and had finished first, then second at World Rowing Cups II and III. [5]
Thomas James MBE is a British rower, twice Olympic champion and victorious Cambridge Blue. In a British coxless four in 2012 he set a world's best time which still stood as of 2021.
Matthew Langridge is a British rower. At the 2012 Summer Olympics in London he was part of the British crew that won the bronze medal in the men's eight. He was the 2015 European Champion in the men's pair, along with James Foad. At the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro he was part of the British crew that won the gold medal in the men's eight.
University of London Boat Club is the rowing club for the University of London and its member institutions, many of which also have their own boat clubs. The club has its boathouse on the Thames in Chiswick, London, UK. It is a designated High-Performance Programme funded by British Rowing.
Polly Swann is a British rower and a member of the Great Britain Rowing Team. She is a former World and European champion in the women's coxless pairs, having won the 2013 World Rowing Championships at Chungju in Korea, and the 2014 European Rowing Championships at Belgrade, Serbia with her partner Helen Glover. At the 2016 Summer Olympics she won a silver medal in the women's eight.

He competed and won medals in the Australian senior men's coxless four at every World Rowing Championship from 2013 to 2018, culminating in consecutive world championship gold at Sarasota 2017 and 2018 Plovdiv. He rowed in the two seat of the Australian men's coxless four to a gold medal victory at the Tokyo Olympics.

He is an Australian national champion, a dual Olympian, an Olympic gold and silver medallist and was the 2017 and 2018 world champion in the coxless four. He stroked the Australian men's coxless four to a gold medal victory at the Tokyo Olympics.
Joshua Hicks is an Australian representative rower. He is an Olympian and a two-time world champion who won gold in the coxless four at the 2017 World Rowing Championships and defended that title at Plovdiv in 2018. He competed in the Australian men's coxless pair at Tokyo 2021.
