Royston Tycho Crandon (born 31 May 1983) is a West Indian international cricketer. He is a right-handed Batsman and off spin bowler who plays domestically for Guyana. In 2009 Crandon made his ODI debut for the West Indies. He is the brother of Esuan Crandon,who also plays for Guyana.
The League of Gentlemen is a surreal British comedy horror sitcom that premiered on BBC Two in 1999. Crandon is a city in Forest County, Wisconsin, United States; it is in the northeastern part of the state, about 100 miles (160 km) north of Green Bay. The population was 1,713 at the 2020 census. The Guyana national cricket team is the representative first class cricket team of Guyana. The side does not take part in any international competitions, but rather in inter-regional competitions in the Caribbean, such as the Regional Four Day Competition and the Regional Super50), and the best players may be selected for the West Indies team, which plays international cricket. Esuan Asqui Crandon is a first class cricketer who played for Guyana. A right arm fast bowler, Crandon debuted in 2000/01 and has career best innings figures of 7/125. He is known for his skiddy seamers and being economical in the one day form. He was part of the winning Guyana team in the Stanford 20/20 in 2006 and also the winning Guyanese team in the inaugural Caribbean Twenty 20 in 2010, thus qualifying for the 2010 Champions League in South Africa.
The Crandon shooting was a mass murder that occurred about 2:45 a.m. CDT on October 7, 2007, at a post-homecoming party inside a duplex in Crandon, Wisconsin, United States. The perpetrator, 20-year-old Tyler James Peterson, who was a full-time deputy in the Forest County Sheriff's Department and a part-time officer with the Crandon Police Department, shot and killed six people and critically injured a seventh before committing suicide. One of the victims, 18-year-old Jordanne Michele Murray, was Peterson's former girlfriend, and it was believed that a dispute within the apartment motivated the shooting.
The 2009 ICC Champions Trophy was a One Day International cricket tournament held in South Africa between 22 September and 5 October, at Wanderers Stadium and Centurion Park, both in the Gauteng province. Originally, the tournament was scheduled to be hosted by Pakistan in 2008, but due to security concerns it shifted to South Africa. It was the sixth ICC Champions Trophy, and was previously known as the ICC Knock-out. Two teams from two groups of four qualified for the semi-finals, and the final was staged in Centurion on 5 October. Australia successfully defended the title by beating New Zealand by six wickets in the final.
The Natal Light Horse was an irregular South African Armed Forces regiment formed by Colonel John Robinson Royston in August 1914 during the First World War after petitioning General Jan Smuts for special permission to do so. Opening recruiting officers in Pietermaritzburg and Durban, a full roster of six hundred men was recruited within ten days. All of those enlisted had seen previous military service, including several Australians who had served under Royston during the Second Boer War and opted to remain in South Africa at the end of that conflict.
