The Men's 470 is a sailing event on the Sailing at the 2020 Summer Olympics program in Tokyo, in the 470 dinghy that takes place between 28 July – 4 August 2021 [1] at Enoshima Yacht Harbor. 11 races (the last one a medal race) will be held. 19 teams have qualified for the event. [2]

Medals were presented by IOC Member for Paraguay Camilo Pérez López Moreira and World Sailing Athlete Commission Chair Mrs Duriye Ozlem Akdurak.

    Luke Patience is a British Olympic sailor. He competed with Stuart Bithell at the 2012 Summer Olympics, and the team won a silver medal.

    Anton Carl Diderik Dahlberg is a Swedish sailor, who specializes in the 470 class, a two-person dinghy. He has represented Sweden, along with his partner Sebastian Östling, in two editions of the Olympic Games, and with Fredrik Bergström in 2016 and 2020, winning an Olympic silver in 2020. He has been representing the Royal Swedish Yacht Club throughout most of his career.

    The Men's 470 was a sailing event on the Sailing at the 2016 Summer Olympics program in Rio de Janeiro, in the 470 dinghy. It took place between 10 and 17 August at Marina da Glória. 11 races were held.

    Jacob Saunders is a Canadian sailor. Along with his partner Graeme Saunders, he competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in the 470 event, finishing in 22nd place. He represented Canada at the 2020 Summer Olympics together with Oliver Bone of the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron, finishing in 17th place in the men's 470 event. He started his early training and career with the Chester Yacht Club, competing as Jacob Chaplin-Saunders.

The defending champions, Martine Grael and Kahena Kunze from Brazil, won the event. Tina Lutz and Susann Beucke from Germany were the second, and Annemiek Bekkering and Annette Duetz from the Netherlands won the bronze medal. The land venue was Enoshima Yacht Harbour and races were held on Sagami Bay.
