Samantha Purvis (born 24 June 1967) is a retired British swimmer.

Career

Purvis competed at the 1984 Summer Olympics and the 1992 Summer Olympics. [1] She represented England and won a bronze medal in the 100 metres butterfly, at the 1986 Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh, Scotland. [2] Four years later she represented England in the butterfly and medley events, at the 1990 Commonwealth Games in Auckland, New Zealand. [3] [4] She also won the ASA National Championship title in the 100 metres butterfly three times (1984, 1985, 1987) [5] [6] [7] and the 200 metres butterfly three times (1984, 1985, 1989). Four years later she represented England in the 200 metres breaststroke, 400 metres individual medley and 800 metres freestyle, at the 1986 Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh, Scotland. She won the 1982 ASA National Championship title in the 200 metres breaststroke and the 1987 400 metres medley title.
