Samyuktha (also known by her former name Samyuktha Menon) is an Indian actress who primarily appears in Malayalam films. She made her acting debut with the Malayalam film Popcorn (2016). [1] [2]

Early life

Samyuktha was born as Samyuktha Menon on 11 September 1995, [3] [4] at Palakkad, Kerala. [5] Samyuktha did her schooling from Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Thathamangalam and she is a graduate in economics. [6]

Career

Samyuktha made her film debut in 2016 with the Malayalam film Popcorn, where she played Anjana, the love interest of Shine Tom Chacko in the movie. [7]

She appeared in the Tamil-language action thriller Kalari as Thenmozhi. [8] [9] She was cast to play the title role in Lilli , a 2018 Indian Malayalam-language revenge thriller flick, scripted and directed by debutant Prasobh Vijayan. [7] [10] July Kaatril announced in late 2017 is a romantic comedy Tamil film. [11] The project was released in 2018. Her next release was Theevandi a Malayalam-language political satire film directed by debutante Fellini T. P. and written by Vini Vishwa Lal. [12] [13]

Samyuktha's first release for 2019 was Oru Yamandan Premakadha [14] directed by B. C. Noufal and written by Bibin George and Vishnu Unnikrishnan. She made a cameo appearance in Uyare [15] as Tessa sharing screen space again with Tovino Thomas. Samyuktha played the role of Shivajith Padmanabhan's side-kick in the 2019 action film Kalki which had Tovino Thomas in the lead directed by Praveen Prabharam. [16] [17] [18] She was later cast in Bheemla Nayak which was released in February 2022. In August 2022, she made her Kannada debut in the film Gaalipata 2 . [19]

Personal life

In 2023, Samyuktha dropped her surname Menon from her name and said, "When I want to see equality, humanity and love all around, keeping a surname makes it very contradictory to what I want." [20] [21]

The film stars Tovino Thomas, Samyuktha, Sudheesh, Surabhi Lakshmi, Rajesh Sharma, Suraj Venjarammoodu, Saiju Kurup, and Shammi Thilakan in lead-roles. Principal photography began in November 2017 and ended around January 2018. Kailas Menon composed the music and Appu Bhattathiri was the editor. The film was released on 7 September 2018.

Uyare is a 2019 Indian Malayalam-language thriller film directed by Manu Ashokan, written by Bobby & Sanjay and produced by the sister-trio Shenuga, Shegna, and Sherga. The film stars Parvathy Thiruvothu, Asif Ali and Tovino Thomas with Siddique, Anarkali Marikar and Prathap Pothen in supporting roles. The story follows the life of Pallavi Raveendran (Parvathy), an aviation student who survives an acid attack that jeopardizes her career. Filming that began in November 2018 was completed by the end of January 2019.

Edakkad Battalion 06 is an Indian Malayalam-language action drama film directed by Swapnesh K. Nair, written by P.Balachandran, and produced by Shrikant Bhasi, Tomas Joseph Pattathanam and Jayant Mammen under the banner of Ruby Films. Santhy Balachandran is an Indian film and theatre actress who works predominantly in Malayalam cinema. She made her feature film debut as the heroine in the 2017 Malayalam comedy thriller film Tharangam, opposite to Tovino Thomas.

Gaalipata 2 is a 2022 Indian Kannada-language romantic comedy film written and directed by Yogaraj Bhat. Not a sequel to 2008 Kannada film, Gaalipata, it features an ensemble cast consisting of Ganesh, Anant Nag, Diganth, Pawan Kumar, Vaibhavi Shandilya, Samyuktha Menon and Sharmiela Mandre.

Vaathi (transl. Teacher) is a 2023 Indian period action drama film written and directed by Venky Atluri. The film was shot simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu with the latter titled as Sir and produced by Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas. The film features Dhanush and Samyuktha in the lead roles, with the simultaneous Telugu version marking the former's debut in Telugu. The film released on 17 February 2023 and received positive reviews from critics.
