Santosh Juvekar is an Indian film, television and stage actor. Known for his work in Marathi films. He has also acted in Hindi films and Web series.

Career

Juvekar started with his acting career in 2004 with the Marathi play Aani Makarand Rajadhyaksha playing the role Naren Deshmukh. Directed by Dilip Kolhatkar, the play had Vikram Gokhale in it. He soon started working in various television serials and became popular with the show Ya Gojirvanya Gharaat. His first film debut was through Rajiv Patil's film Blind Game in 2006. The film had a notable star cast of Anant Jog and Upendra Limaye in lead roles and actress Mukta Barve in a small role. He later played various roles as the main lead in films like Zenda , Morya , Matter and more. He also did a movie named 31December:The Mirror in which he played the role of Army officer. He got nominated for Gadbad Gondhal in Ambarnath Marathi Film Festival in 2017 as Best Actor. [3] He also works in a web series known as Struggler Saala which is available on YouTube. [4]

Marathi Theatre

He commenced his acting career in 2004 with the Marathi play 'Aani Makarand Rajadhyaksha'. In this play, he played the role of Naren Deshmukh. Directed by Dilip Kolhatkar, the play co-starred Vikram Gokhale. [5]

Santosh Juvekar is known for his brilliant performance in films like 'Zenda', Ek Tara, Shala, Fakt Ladh Mhana, Sanai Choughade, Date Bhet, 'Rege', 'Morya', and 'Sharyat' [6] [7] [8] [9] [10] [11] [12]

His upcoming movies include 'Raanti' directed by Samit Kakkad who had directed 36 Gunn featuring Santosh Juvekar. [13]

Hindi Cinema

2000 - 2009

His first Hindi movie was Mumbai Meri Jaan a 2008 Indian drama film directed by Nishikant Kamat and produced by Ronnie Screwvala. [14] It stars R. Madhavan, Irrfan Khan, Soha Ali Khan, Paresh Rawal and Kay Kay Menon. It deals with the aftermath of the 11 July 2006 Mumbai train bombings, where 209 people lost their lives and over 700 were injured. [15] It won multiple Filmfare Awards including National Film Award for Best Special Effects in 2008.

2010 - 2019

In 2017, he starred in the movie Ascharya Fuck It (parsed as Ascharya F#*k It on the film's theatrical poster; also known as Ascharyachakit!) featuring alongside Priyanka Bose, Vaibhav Raj Gupta, Ankit Raj and Anangsha Biswas. [16] [5]

2020 - Till date

Santosh Juvekar will be seen in the upcoming film Chhava. [17]

Santosh Juvekar was seen in Bhonsle released in 2020. He played the role of hostile Vilas, a taxi driver by night and an aspiring Marathi neta by day. [18] [19] [4] [6]

Juvekar played the role of Police Inspector in two movies: Darlings , released on Netflix in 2022, and Kuttey , released in 2023. He also played a role of Guddu in the movie Minus 31: The Nagpur Files. [20]

Half Ticket is a 2016 Indian Marathi language film directed by Samit Kakkad and produced by Nanu Jaisinghani, Suresh Jaisinghani and Mohit Jaisinghani. The film is the story of two slum boy brothers and their absolute focus to get what they cannot dare dream of. It is an official remake of the award-winning Tamil film Kaaka Muttai produced by Dhanush & Vetrimaaran. Film was released on 22 July 2016. Half Ticket was selected for the Indiwood Panorama Competition section at the 2nd edition of Indiwood Carnival 2016 in Hyderabad. At the 57th Zlin International Film Festival 2017 held in the Czech Republic, Half Ticket won the Ecumenical Jury Award.

Indori Ishq is a romantic-drama web series which is directed by Samit Kakkad and written by Kunal Marathe. The show features Ritvik Sahore, Vedika Bhandari, Aashay Kulkarni. The show was released on 10 June 2021 and in a very small period of time, it gained popularity with positive response in all over the country because the story is quite very interesting and emotional.

Aayna Ka Bayna also known as Delinquent Dancers is a 2012 Marathi-language musical drama film written and directed by Samit Kakkad. The film stars Sachin Khedekar and Amruta Khanvilkar while Siddesh Pai, Amit Rokade, Dinesh Kamble, Pravin Nair, Anand Chavan, Sanket Farad, Rahul Kulkarni, Akhilesh Vishvakarma and Nikhil Rajemahadik portray pivotal roles. A group of juveniles living in a remand home possess amazing dancing skills, but their path is hindered by their warden. Two dance masters assist and guide these aspirants towards their goal.

<i>Date Bhet</i> 2023 Indian film

Date Bhet is a 2023 Indian Marathi-language romantic drama film directed by Lokesh Gupte, written by Ashwini Shende. It is jointly produced by AVK Entertainment and Zabawa Entertainment, distributed by Filmastra Studios. The film stars Hemant Dhome, Sonalee Kulkarni and Santosh Juvekar in leading roles.

Ranangan is a 2018 Indian Marathi-language film written and directed by Rakesh Sarang and produced by Vaibhav Uttamrao Joshi.
