Kuching, officially the City of Kuching, is the capital and the most populous city in the state of Sarawak in Malaysia. It is also the capital of Kuching Division. The city is on the Sarawak River at the southwest tip of the state of Sarawak on the island of Borneo and covers an area of 431 km2 (166 sq mi) with a population about 165,642 in the Kuching North administrative region and 159,490 in the Kuching South administrative region—a total of 325,132 people.

Mount Pueh, also known as Mount Pueh-Berumput, Mount Poi and Mount Poe, is a mountain located near Lundu, Sarawak on the Malaysia-Indonesia border. Mount Pueh was known to biologists for the collections made there by Eric Mjöberg (1882–1938), a Swedish naturalist, who was Curator of the Sarawak Museum between 1922 and 1924. Mjöberg's herpetological collections from Gunung Pueh between October and December 1923, and other localities in Borneo, were reported by Smith (1925). Mjöberg, unfortunately, left little by way of written records, of his ascent of Pueh and the collections he made.
The Kuching Wetlands National Park is a national park in Petra Jaya, Kuching District, Kuching Division, Sarawak, Malaysia. It is the remains of the former Sarawak Mangrove Forest Reserve which covered 170 km2.
The History of Sarawak can be traced as far as 40,000 years ago to the paleolithic period where the earliest evidence of human settlement is found in the Niah caves. A series of Chinese ceramics dated from the 8th to 13th century AD was uncovered at the archeological site of Santubong. The coastal regions of Sarawak came under the influence of the Bruneian Empire in the 16th century. In 1839, James Brooke, a British explorer, first arrived in Sarawak. Sarawak was later governed by the Brooke family between 1841 and 1946. During World War II, it was occupied by the Japanese for three years. After the war, the last White Rajah, Charles Vyner Brooke, ceded Sarawak to Britain, and in 1946 it became a British Crown Colony. On 22 July 1963, Sarawak was granted self-government by the British. Following this, it became one of the founding members of the Federation of Malaysia, established on 16 September 1963. However, the federation was opposed by Indonesia, and this led to the three-year Indonesia–Malaysia confrontation. From 1960 to 1990, Sarawak experienced a communist insurgency.
Sulaiman bin Daud was a Malaysian politician who held seven cabinet posts in the Malaysian government between 1981 and 1999, including as Federal Minister of Education. He represented the constituency of Santubong and Petra Jaya in the Parliament of Malaysia and was a member of the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) in the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition. He was Chancellor of the International Medical University from 2005 to 2010.
State Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium holds 26,000 people and opened in 1989, was the largest stadium in Malaysia. The stadium hosted Sukma Games in 1990, which Sarawak won. State Stadium is located in an area of 5 hectares in Petra Jaya. Officially opened on 27 August 1983. 3 stages of construction experience. The second stage of construction was completed on 15 June 1989 while the third level with the addition of a block to be completed by 24 June 1991. The total cost of this State Stadium is RM22.6 million. The stadium can accommodate 26,000 spectators at a time. Apart from sport and football, the stadium can also be a venue for organizing the rally events, concerts, performances, meetings, courses, workshops and so on.
Nancy binti Shukri is a Malaysian politician who has served as Minister of Women, Family and Community Development in the Unity Government administration under Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim since December 2022 and the Member of Parliament (MP) for Santubong since November 2022. She served as the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture for the second term in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under former Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob from August 2021 to the collapse of the BN administration in November 2022 and her first term in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) administration under former Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin from March 2020 to August 2021 and the MP for Batang Sadong from March 2008 to November 2022. She served as Minister in the Prime Minister's Department and Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities in the BN administration under former Prime Minister Najib Razak from May 2013 to May 2018. She is a member the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB), a component party of the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) and formerly BN coalitions.

Opened on 16 October 2016, the 1.48 km (1 mi) bridge is now the third longest bridge in Malaysia across a river replacing the ferry service across Batang Sadong river.
The Sultanate of Sarawak was a Malay kingdom, located in present-day Kuching Division, Sarawak. The kingdom was founded in 1599, after the conquest of the preceding Santubong Kingdom and the later Sultanate of Brunei.
The Santubong National Park is a national park in Kuching Division, Sarawak, Malaysia, 35 km north of Kuching. It contains the 810m peak of Mount Santubong and surrounding rainforested slopes. There are a number of jungle treks in the park, including to the peak. Wildlife in the park include proboscis monkeys and rhinoceros hornbills.
Katori Maru was a steam ocean liner of the Empire of Japan. She was built in Nagasaki in 1912–13. In the Second World War the Imperial Japanese Navy requisitioned her as a troop ship. In 1941 a Royal Netherlands Navy submarine sank her off the coast of Sarawak.
