Sarkan-e Olya (Persian : سركان عليا‎, also Romanized as Sarkān-e ‘Olyā; also known as Sarākān ‘Olyā, Sarkān-e Bālā, Sarkūn-e Bāla, Sarkūn-e ‘Olyā, and Sarkūn ‘Olyā)^[1] is a village in Holayjan Rural District, in the Central District of Izeh County, Khuzestan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 598, in 117 families.^[2]

Persian, also known by its endonym Farsi, is one of the Western Iranian languages within the Indo-Iranian branch of the Indo-European language family. It is primarily spoken in Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and some other regions which historically were Persianate societies and considered part of Greater Iran. It is written right to left in the Persian alphabet, a modified variant of the Arabic script, which itself evolved from the Aramaic alphabet.

Holayjan Rural District is a rural district (dehestan) in the Central District of Izeh County, Khuzestan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 7,435, in 1,362 families. The rural district has 56 villages.

The Central District of Izeh County is a district (bakhsh) in Izeh County, Khuzestan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 169,765, in 31,786 families; excluding those portions, its population was 153,226, in 28,915 families. The District has one city: Izeh. The District has five rural districts (dehestan): Holayjan Rural District, Howmeh-ye Gharbi Rural District, Howmeh-ye Sharqi Rural District, Margha Rural District, and Pian Rural District.
