In 2021, the Commodores expanded by adding a pro-am women's team that competes in United Women's Soccer.

The Mercyhurst Lakers men's ice hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association hockey team that represents Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pennsylvania under Head Coach Rick Gotkin. The team is currently a Division I hockey team playing out of the Mercyhurst Ice Center located on the school campus. The Mercyhurst Lakers started out as a club sport at the school, moving up to Division III, followed by Division II, and now plays in Division I in Atlantic Hockey America, formed shortly after the 2023–24 season by the merger of the Lakers' former home, the Atlantic Hockey Association, with College Hockey America. After joining their step up into Division I in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference in 1998, the Lakers have won their conference tournament making NCAA tournament appearances in 2001, 2003, and 2005.
Cleveland SC is an American semi-professional soccer club based in the Greater Cleveland, Ohio region. Cleveland competes in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) as part of the Midwest Region's Great Lakes Conference. The club was established on February 19, 2018, taking over from the recently defunct AFC Cleveland as the city's representative in the NPSL.
The South Florida Bulls lacrosse team will represent the University of South Florida in the sport of women's lacrosse beginning in spring 2025. They will compete in the American Athletic Conference of NCAA Division I. The Bulls will play their home games at Corbett Stadium on USF's Tampa campus, which they will share with the USF men's and women's soccer teams. It is the university's newest varsity sports team and the first new USF team since football was established in 1997. It will be the first new women's team in an NCAA sport at USF since women's soccer in 1995.
The Erie Express are an amateur American football minor-league team based in Erie, Pennsylvania. Founded in 2011, they will compete in the Premier Amateur Football League starting in 2025. In 2024, the Express played in the Tri-Point Football League (TPFL). From 2018 to 2023, the team played in the Gridiron Developmental Football League (GDFL), winning the championship in 2021. The team plays at Erie Veterans Memorial Stadium, a historic football venue in the Academy Neighborhood of midtown Erie.

Led by second-year head coach Ryan Riemedio, the Rams compiled an overall record of 2–9 with a mark of 1–6 in conference play, tying for last place in the PSAC West Division. The team played home games at Saxon Stadium in Erie, Pennsylvania.
