Richard Scott Walker (born July 10,1953) [1] is an American judge in the U.S. state of Texas.
Walker was elected to the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals (CCA) in 2016. Walker graduated from Red Oak High School in 1971. [2] He completed his undergraduate degree at Dallas Baptist University and received his J.D. degree from the Baylor Law School.
Prior to his election campaign,he was a defense attorney in Fort Worth,Texas. [3] He was 63 years old when he ran for Place 5 of CCA. The Houston Chronicle described him as having a "politically famous name" (referring to the Governor of Wisconsin,who is also named Scott Walker). After his victory,he said that he had won not because of his recognizable name,but because of the amount of time he had spent campaigning. [3] He had twenty years of experience in both trial and appellate level criminal defense work prior to his election,but had never taken a death penalty case. [4] His opponent was Williamson County,Texas Assistant District Attorney Brent Webster. [3]
While running for re-election in 2022,Walker refused to say whether he believed that Trump lost the 2020 election. [5]
He and his wife,Pam,have been married since 1974;they have one son,one daughter and two grandchildren. [6] Walker is a conservative Republican and an evangelical Christian. [2]

Robert Christopher Bell is an American politician,attorney,and former journalist. He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and South Texas College of Law. Bell served five years on the Houston City Council from 1997 to 2001,followed by one term in the United States House of Representatives from Texas's 25th Congressional District in Houston from 2003 to 2005.

The Brownstone Lane murders were the mass murders of four people at a residence on Brownstone Lane in Houston,Texas. On June 20,1992,three men tied up six people and shot all of them in the head execution-style. Four of the six victims died. The perpetrators:Marion Butler Dudley,Arthur "Squirt" Brown Jr.,and Antonia "Tony" Lamone Dunson were convicted of capital murder. Dudley and Brown were sentenced to death,while Dunson was sentenced to life in prison.
The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals (CCA) is the court of last resort for all criminal matters in Texas. The Court,which is based in the Supreme Court Building in Downtown Austin,is composed of a presiding judge and eight judges.
The Texas Courts of Appeals are part of the Texas judicial system. In Texas,all cases appealed from district and county courts,criminal and civil,go to one of the fourteen intermediate courts of appeals,with one exception:death penalty cases. The latter are taken directly to the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals,the court of last resort for criminal matters in the State of Texas. The highest court for civil and juvenile matters is the Texas Supreme Court. While the Supreme Court (SCOTX) and the Court of Criminal Appeals (CCA) each have nine members per the Texas Constitution,the sizes of the intermediate courts of appeals are set by statute and vary greatly,depending on historical case filings and so that the justices on each court can timely adjudicate the volume of cases regularly before them. The total number of intermediate appellate court seats currently stands at 80,ranging from three,four,six,seven,nine,and thirteen (Dallas) per court.

At the present time there is only one Convention Party in Texas,that is the Libertarian Party. Other parties may seek to achieve ballot access.

The 2022 Texas Attorney General election took place on November 8,2022,to elect the Attorney General of Texas. Incumbent Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton won re-election to his third term. Paxton won all but 21 counties and won the popular vote by a margin of 9.7%,underperforming Governor Greg Abbott's concurrent bid for re-election by 1.1%.
