Serbia participated at the European Youth Olympic Festival since its establishment in 1991.
From 1991−2001 Serbia competed under the name Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. In that period did not compete in only 2 EYOFs, both Summer and Winter in 1993 due to UN sanctions. Between 2003−2005. competed under the name Serbia and Montenegro. From 2007 forward it competes as Serbia.
Serbia hosted the 2007 European Youth Summer Olympic Festival in Belgrade.

The European Olympic Committees is an organisation based in Rome, Italy, consisting of 50 National Olympic Committees from the continent of Europe. Among other duties, the EOC organizes three major multi-sport events; the European Youth Olympic Festival, the Games of the Small States of Europe and the European Games.
Žarko Varajić was a Serbian professional basketball player and executive. He represented the Yugoslavia national team internationally.
The European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) is a biennial multi-sport event for youth athletes from the 50 member countries of the association of European Olympic Committees. The festival has a summer edition, held for the first time in Brussels in 1991, and a winter edition, which began two years later in Aosta. It was known as the European Youth Olympic Days from 1991 to 1999.
European Youth Olympic Festival is a multi-sport event held in both summer and winter disciplines every second year. Figure skating is one of the sports in its winter edition. The competition is held in junior category.

Turkey participated in nine editions of eleven European Youth Summer Olympic Festivals since its establishment in 1991.
Nina Micić is a Serbian snowboarder. She won a silver medal at the 2007 European Youth Winter Olympic Festival in the parallel giant slalom event. She is the first Serbian athlete who won a medal at the Winter EYOF. Nina qualified for 2014 Winter Olympics and became first Serbian Olympic snowboarder in history.
The 2017 European Youth Olympic Winter Festival was held in Erzurum, Turkey from 12 to 17 February 2017.
Serbia made its debut as independent country at the 2007 Winter Universiade while previously competed as part of SFR Yugoslavia (1961–1991) and FR Yugoslavia/Serbia and Montenegro (1993–2005). Serbia hosted 2009 Summer Universiade in Belgrade.

The 1991 European Youth Olympic Days was the inaugural edition of multi-sport event for European youths between the ages of 13 and 18. It was held in Brussels, Belgium from 12 to 21 July. A total of nine sports were contested by 2084 athletes representing 33 European nations. The idea for the competition came from Jacques Rogge, an International Olympic Committee member, as the continent did not have its own multi-sport event at the time.
The 2019 European Youth Summer Olympic Festival was held in Baku, Azerbaijan on 21 to 27 July 2019.

Slovakia first participated at the European Youth Olympic Festival at the 1993 Summer Festival and has earned medals at both summer and winter festivals.
Bosnia and Herzegovina first participated at the European Youth Olympic Festival at the 1995 Winter Festival and has earned medals at both summer and winter festivals. Bosnia and Herzegovina hosted the 2019 Winter Festival.
Russia first participated at the European Youth Olympic Festival at the 1993 Winter Festival and has earned medals at both summer and winter festivals.
