Shaaban Robert Secondary School (SRSS) is a co-educational secondary school based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The school is named after the celebrated Tanzanian poet and author, Shaaban Bin Robert.

Background

The School is owned by the Dar es Salaam Secondary Education Society. It is run by a Board of Governors and a Management Committee. Sir Andy Chande is the Chairman of the Board of Governors of the School and President of the Dar es Salaam Secondary Education Society.

Kivukoni is an administrative ward located in Ilala District, Dar es Salaam Region of Tanzania. Kivikoni's name come from the Swahili word meaning "a crossing place". The ward is bordered by Upanga East ward to the west, Kisutu ward to the southwest, and Kigamboni ward across the Kivukoni channel. The ward covers an area of 2.387 km2 (0.922 sq mi). Kivukoni ward is one of the most important wards in the country, as it is home to the Ikulu, which is the home of the president of Tanzania. Imani Sanga is Professor of Music in the Department of Creative Arts, formerly called Department of Fine and Performing Arts, in the College of Humanities at the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. He teaches courses in Ethnomusicology, Philosophy of Music, Composition and Choral Music. And he conducts the university choir.

The Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) is a stock exchange located on Ohio Street, west of Kivukoni, south east of Dar es Salaam, the commercial capital and largest city in Tanzania. It was incorporated in September 1996 and trading started in April 1998. It is a member of the African Stock Exchanges Association and the World Federation of Exchanges.
