Shannon Cox (born 4 June 1998) is a rower from New Zealand. She competed at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Early life

She started rowing at Whangārei Girls' High School in 2012. [2]

Career

A member of Avon Rowing Club in Christchurch, [3] she made her debut in a New Zealand vest when she won three gold medals at the Trans Tasman Under 21 regatta in Sydney in 2018, winning the lightweight sculls, the quad and the eight. [4]

She was selected to represent New Zealand at the World Rowing U23 Championships in Sarasota, Florida in 2019, to compete in the women's under-23 lightweight single scull. [3] She won the New Zealand Women's Single Sculls title in 2022. [5]

She competed at the 2023 World Rowing Championships in the Women's lightweight double sculls alongside Jackie Kiddle where their performance qualified their boat class for the 2024 Olympics. [6] She won the World Cup III in Poznan in June 2024, in the lightweight double sculls with Kiddle. [7]

She competed in the lightweight double sculls alongside Kiddle at the 2024 Paris Olympics. [8]

At the 2016 Rio Olympics, he competed with the eight and won gold in the same boat class at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Murray has won four consecutive premier national titles in the coxless pair. Olivia Loe is a New Zealand representative rower. She is a two-time world champion in the double scull and is the incumbent world champion winning gold at the 2019 World Rowing Championships with Brooke Donoghue. She has been selected in the New Zealand senior squad for the 2020 Summer Olympics but in a surprise move at the final crew selections Loe was replaced in the double scull by Hannah Osborne and selected to race the New Zealand women's quad-scull.

Jackie Kiddle is a rower from New Zealand. She participated in Woman's rowing sport and represented New Zealand in several International Championships(including U23).

Brooke Francis is a New Zealand rower. She has twice won the world championship in the double scull alongside Olivia Loe, is the incumbent world champion, and won a silver medal in this class at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics with rowing partner Hannah Osborne, followed by a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics with Lucy Spoors. As of 2021, she has won ten premier national rowing championships.

Hannah Osborne is a New Zealand rower. A member of the national squad, she qualified for the 2020 Summer Olympics. In a surprise move, she was selected in the double scull alongside Brooke Donoghue, displacing the reigning twice world champion Olivia Loe. Osborne and Donoghue raced to a silver medal in Tokyo.

Georgia Nugent-O'Leary is a New Zealand rower. She is nominated to compete at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in the quad sculls.

Phoebe Spoors is a New Zealand rower. From Christchurch, she was an unused reserve in the New Zealand women's eight at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in which her elder sister Lucy won a silver medal. In an unusual career progression for a New Zealand rower, she never represented the country as an age-group rower but joined the national team after several years in the United States for fulltime rowing at the University of Washington combined with tertiary study.

Elis Özbay is a Turkish rower competing in the lightweight single sculls and double sculls events. She is qualified to participate at the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France, as the first Turkish female rower.
