Silifke HES is a regulator and a low power hydroelectric plant in Turkey.

It is at 36°23′19″N33°56′34″E / 36.38861°N 33.94278°E / 36.38861; 33.94278 in Silifke ilçe (district) of Mersin Province. It is to the east of Turkish state highway D.715 which connects Silifke to north.

The dam is on a channel flowing to Göksu River. Although it is currently[ when? ] owned by EÜAŞ, the public company, soon together with four other low power Hydro electric plants in Mersin Province, it will be privatized. [1]

The annual production is 2 000 000 kWh. [2]

Tekfur ambarı is a large cistern in Silifke ( Seleukeia) ilçe district center of Mersin Province, Turkey. A part of the city of Silifke, it is situated to the west of city center and to the east of Silifke castle at 36°23′N33°55′E. It was built during the early years of Byzantine Empire. The building material is face stone. The west to east dimension is 46 metres (151 ft) and the north to south dimension is 23 metres (75 ft). The depth of the cistern is 14 metres (46 ft). The total water capacity is about 12 000 tonnes. At the east side of the cistern there is a spiral staircase. There are 8 niches at the 46 m dimension and 5 niches at the 23 m dimension.

The population of the village is 127 as of 2011. The name of the village refer to the fact that there are ruins around the village. Main economic activities are animal breeding and farming. However, by the summer of 2012, the problem is solved and it is hoped that it will boost the agricultural production.
