Scott County is a county in the U.S. state of Minnesota. As of the 2020 census, the population was 150,928. Its county seat is Shakopee. Shakopee is also the largest city in Scott County, the twenty-third-largest city in Minnesota, and the sixteenth-largest Twin Cities suburb. The county was organized in 1853 and named in honor of General Winfield Scott. Scott County is part of the Minneapolis-St. Paul-Bloomington, MN-WI Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is a member of the Metropolitan Council, and shares many of the council's concerns about responsible growth management, advocating for progressive development concepts such as clustering, open-space design, and the preservation of open space and rural/agricultural land.

Borodino is a hamlet located at the intersection of New York State Route 41 and New York State Route 174 in the Town of Spafford in Onondaga County, New York, United States, near Skaneateles Lake. The hamlet proper extends five to ten properties to the east, south, west and north from the intersection, until houses and a few other buildings are replaced by farm fields. A monument for veterans, designed by Gianfranco Fritelli, stands in a cemetery at the southeast corner of the intersection. A little-altered Federal style Methodist Church, known locally as "The Church", dating from 1830, stands close to the 174, about five properties north. The Borodino District School No. 8 and Borodino Hall (1835) are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Marion Isabelle Sims Spafford, known as Belle S. Spafford, was the ninth Relief Society General President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from April 6, 1945, until October 3, 1974. She served longer in this capacity than any other woman in the history of the Relief Society. Spafford also served as president of the National Council of Women from 1968 to 1972, traveling and speaking both nationally and internationally in that position.

Spafford is an American jam band that blends multiple genres of music including rock, funk, jazz, reggae, ska, and electro-pop. Members Brian Moss (guitar/vocals) and Jordan Fairless (bass/vocals) formed Spafford in Prescott, Arizona on New Year's Eve in 2009. Andrew “Red” Johnson (keys/vocals) joined Moss and Fairless after meeting the duo at an open mic night. Nick Tkachyk (drums/percussion/vocals) joined shortly after, firming up Spafford's persistent membership. The group self-releases its recordings, including studio albums, improvisational sessions, and soundboard releases of their live shows.

The Twelve Labors of Hercules is a series of murals by Washington State artist Michael Spafford commissioned in the early 1980s for the State of Washington. The works were completed in 1981 and permanently installed on the walls of the House of Representatives' chambers at the Washington State Capitol in Olympia; the building was designed in the 1920s to accommodate murals, but they were not funded until the 1970s. The "stark, black-and-white, modernistic" paintings depict "the mythic tasks performed by the Greek hero Hercules".
