The Vines are an Australian rock band formed in Sydney in 1994. Their sound has been described as a musical hybrid of 1960s garage rock and 1990s alternative rock. The band has been through several line-up changes,with vocalist/guitarist Craig Nicholls serving as the sole constant throughout the band's history.
The John Butler Trio are an Australian roots/rock band led by guitarist and vocalist John Butler,an APRA and ARIA-award-winning musician. They formed in Fremantle in 1998 with Jason McGann on drums and Gavin Shoesmith on bass. By 2009,the trio consisted of Butler with Byron Luiters on bass and Nicky Bomba on drums and percussion,the latter being replaced by Grant Gerathy in 2013. After both Luiters and Gerathy exited the trio in early 2019,bassist OJ Newcomb and drummer Terepai Richmond joined the band,accompanied by touring musician Elana Stone on keyboards,percussion and backing vocals.
The Cat Empire is an Australian jazz/funk band,formed in Melbourne,Victoria in 1999. For most of the band's duration,the core members were Felix Riebl,Harry James Angus,Will Hull-Brown (drums),Jamshid "Jumps" Khadiwhala,Ollie McGill and Ryan Monro. Monro retired from the band in March 2021,while Angus,Hull-Brown and Khadiwhala all left in April 2022. They are often supplemented by The Empire Horns,a brass duo composed of Ross Irwin (trumpet) and Kieran Conrau (trombone),among others. Their sound is a fusion of jazz,ska,funk and rock with heavy Latin influences.

Grinspoon are an Australian rock band from Lismore,New South Wales,formed in 1995 and fronted by Phil Jamieson on vocals and guitar with Pat Davern on guitar,Joe Hansen on bass guitar and Kristian Hopes on drums. Also in 1995,they won the Triple J-sponsored Unearthed competition for Lismore,with their post-grunge song "Sickfest". Their name was taken from Dr. Lester Grinspoon,an associate professor emeritus of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School,who supported marijuana for medical use.

The band rose to fame in 1997 after the release of their EP Second Solution / Prisoner of Society,which peaked at No. 4 on the Australian ARIA Singles Chart. They have released eight studio albums,two of which reached the No. 1 spot on the ARIA Albums Chart:The Living End and State of Emergency. They have also achieved chart success in the U.S. and the United Kingdom.

The band's members are Mark Morriss on vocals,Adam Devlin on guitar,Scott Morriss on bass guitar,and Eds Chesters on drums. A fifth member,Richard Payne,came on board between 1998 and 2002. The band was originally named "The Bottlegarden".
Hilltop Hoods are an Australian hip hop group that formed in 1991 in Blackwood,Adelaide,South Australia. They are regarded as pioneers of the "larrikin-like" style of Australian hip hop. The group was founded by Suffa and Pressure,who were joined by DJ Debris after fellow founder,DJ Next,left in 1999. The group released its first extended play,Back Once Again,in 1997 and have subsequently released eight studio albums,two "restrung" albums and three DVDs.
Christopher John Cheney is an Australian rock musician,record producer,and studio owner. He is the founding mainstay guitarist,songwriter,and lead vocalist of the rockabilly band The Living End,which was formed in 1994 with schoolmate Scott Owen. Cheney wrote the group's top 20 hits on the ARIA Singles Chart:"Second Solution" / "Prisoner of Society" (1997),"All Torn Down" (1999),"Pictures in the Mirror" (2000),"Roll On" (2001),"One Said to the Other" (2003),"What's on Your Radio" (2005),"Wake Up" (2006),and "White Noise" (2008). In 2004,Cheney joined the supergroup The Wrights which put out a cover version of Stevie Wright's epic 11-minute track,"Evie" as a single. At the 2009 APRA Music Awards,Cheney won Song of the Year for writing The Living End's track,"White Noise". In 2005,he married his girlfriend Emma;the couple has two daughters and are co-owners of a recording facility,Red Door Sounds. In 2011,the Cheney family relocated to Los Angeles.
The Presets are an Australian electronic music duo of Julian Hamilton and Kim Moyes. Formed in 2003 and signed to Modular Records,The Presets released two EPs in advance of their debut album,Beams,released in 2005 to positive critical response. After two years of touring,including as the Australian support for Daft Punk,the band's 2008 release,Apocalypso,debuted at number one on the ARIA Albums Chart,and went on to win six awards at ARIA Awards 2008,including Album of the Year.
Bliss n Eso are an Australian hip hop trio based in Sydney,New South Wales. They are currently signed to Melbourne record label Illusive Sounds,and are managed and booked by label co-founders Adam Jankie and Matt Gudinski. Bliss n Eso have released six studio albums which include three number 1 debuts on the ARIA Charts. They have also won two ARIA Awards for Best Urban Release for their 2008 album Flying Colours and for Best Music Video for their 2017 single "Moments". Eso,under his alias Esoterik,released an album entitled "My Astral Plane" in May 2018.

Operator Please were an Australian pop band,originating in the Gold Coast,Queensland,in 2005. Their final line-up consisted of vocalist and guitarist Amandah Wilkinson,drummer Tim Commandeur,keyboardist Chris Holland,bassist Ashley McConnell and violinist Taylor Henderson. They are best known for their 2007 single "Just a Song About Ping Pong",which won an ARIA Music Award at the 2007 ceremony.

Chris Cheney,Scott Owen and Joe Piripitzi formed The Living End in 1994;their debut release was Hellbound,an eight-track EP,in 1995. The group's first single,"From Here on In",was issued in 1996 from their second EP,It's for Your Own Good,which received airplay on Triple J,an Australian radio station. Soon after,Piripitzi was replaced on drums by Travis Demsey. The band's breakthrough hit occurred in 1997 with "Second Solution / Prisoner of Society",a double A-sided single/EP,which became the highest-selling Australian-made single of the 1990s. It peaked at number four and spent 47 weeks in the ARIA Top 50 Singles chart,and charted in the top 30 of the United States' Hot Modern Rock Tracks chart.

A limited edition bonus DVD,recorded at ACDC Lane in Melbourne,was also released,featuring six live songs,four of which were songs from White Noise.

In the United Kingdom,the single was released as a download and limited-edition red 7-inch single.
Gang of Youths are an Australian alternative rock group from Sydney. The band consists of principal songwriter David Le'aupepe,Max Dunn,Jung Kim,Donnie Borzestowski (drums),and Tom Hobden. Kim is Korean-American,Dunn is from New Zealand,Borzestowski is Polish-Australian,Hobden is British,while Le'aupepe is of Samoan and Austrian-Jewish descent. They are mostly known for their 2017 single "Let Me Down Easy" which became their first top 50 single in Australia. Their debut album,The Positions,peaked at No. 5 on the ARIA Albums Chart in May 2015 and was nominated for multiple ARIA Awards.
