Steve Stuart Wayne Liburd (born 26 February 1985 in Basseterre, St Kitts) is a West Indian cricketer who played in the 2004 U-19 Cricket World Cup in Bangladesh. He plays first-class and List A cricket for the Leeward Islands. [1]

Steve starred in the Stanford 20/20 as captain of St Kitts Tournament held in the Caribbean. In 2007 he was professional at Royton CC in the Central Lancashire League.

West Indies cricket team

The West Indies cricket team, nicknamed the Windies, is a multi-national men's cricket team representing the mainly English-speaking nations and territories in the Caribbean region and administered by Cricket West Indies. He was a top-order batsman who made his name playing for St Kitts and Leeward Islands Under-19s, but his career in the Caribbean ended when he moved to Canada where he established himself in the national side, playing in three ICC Trophies as well as the 1998 Commonwealth Games where he captained them. He served as president of the St. Kitts Cricket Association and as a territorial development officer for the West Indies Cricket Board before joining Cricket Canada as its cricket development officer in 2008. In 2009 he was the surprise choice as interim chief executive after the surprise removal of Atul Ahuja. He made his début for Canada in a match against Barbados in 1987. He represented Canada at three ICC Trophy tournaments and in 13 List A matches, including the cricket tournament at the 1998 Commonwealth Games.

Leonard Alphonso Harris was a West Indian cricketer who played for the Leeward Islands between 1958 and 1971. An opening batsman for much of his career, and occasional bowler in his final seasons, Harris played in West Indian first class cricket, as well as facing the MCC team, England and Australia during his career. He played 27 matches, scoring nearly 1,400 runs at 29.04, including a century, and taking 15 wickets at 19.46. He then went on to play lower-level cricket for St. Kitts until 1976, and helped create the first cricket academy in the Leeward Islands.

United States Virgin Islands national cricket team

The United States Virgin Islands cricket team has represented the United States unincorporated territory of the United States Virgin Islands in cricket. The team is not a member of the International Cricket Council, but is a member of the Leeward Islands Cricket Association, which itself is a member association of the West Indies Cricket Board, and players from the United States Virgin Islands generally represent the Leeward Islands cricket team at domestic level and the West Indies at international level. The United States Virgin Islands have however played as a separate entity in matches which held Twenty20 status, but has not appeared in first-class or List A cricket.

Anne Liburd

Anne LiburdMBE (1920–2007) also known as Ann Liburd was a Kittitian women’s rights activist and community organizer. She served as president of the National Council of Women in St. Kitts and was the first and then three-time president of the Caribbean Women’s Association. She headed several programs to develop women's entrepreneurial skills and then served as the first president of the Federation of Labour Women, a political affiliation of the Saint Kitts and Nevis Labour Party to help women gain leadership and communication skills.

Marcella Liburd

Marcella Liburd is a Kittitian politician. Trained as a teacher and then as a barrister and solicitor, Liburd was the first woman to serve as Speaker of the National Assembly of Saint Kitts and Nevis. She has served in various Ministerial positions, as Acting Prime Minister, and is the current Chair of the Opposition for the Labour Party. She is the first woman to serve as Chair in the 81-year-old organization.

The 2018 Caribbean Premier League (CPLT20) was the sixth season of the Caribbean Premier League, the domestic Twenty20 cricket league in the West Indies. Matches were played in seven countries – Trinidad and Tobago, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Guyana, Barbados, Jamaica, Saint Lucia, with three of the matches were played at Lauderhill, Florida, United States. The tournament started on 8 August 2018.
