August Bournonville was a Danish ballet master and choreographer. He was the son of Antoine Bournonville,a dancer and choreographer trained under the French choreographer,Jean Georges Noverre,and the nephew of Julie Alix de la Fay,née Bournonville,of the Royal Swedish Ballet.

Henrik Dam Kristensen is a Danish politician and a former speaker of the Danish parliament. He has been a member of the Danish parliament for the Social Democrats from 1990 to 2004 and again from 2007,during which he served as Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries (1994–1996),Minister for Food (1996–2000),Minister for Social Affairs (2000–2001),Minister for Transport (2011–2013) and Minister for Employment (2014–2015). He served as President of the Nordic Council in 2011 and 2016.
Halfdan Wedel Rasmussen was a Danish poet. He was known for his literary nonsense verse for children and his serious adult writings about social issues and human rights. He was awarded with the Ministry of Culture's children book prize in 1965.

AK81 is a street gang in Denmark. It is a support gang of the Hells Angels,but members are not required to own a motorcycle or wear a patch. Because of this,and due to high-running racial tensions,they are recruiting much faster than the Hells Angels in Denmark. AK stands for "Altid Klar",which is Danish for Always Ready,and 81 is synonymous with the letters HA. The gang was formed in 2007 to combat immigrant street gangs in a feud over the lucrative illegal hashish market. This means that they essentially provide muscle for the Hells Angels. Police estimate that they have around three hundred members.

The Ben Webster Prize is an annual jazz award set up by the Ben Webster Foundation to honour Danish and American jazz musicians as well as other professionals active in the promotion of jazz in those countries. The American jazz musician Ben Webster spent his last ten years in Copenhagen,Denmark,where he became an active part of the city's thriving jazz scene. After his death,the Ben Webster Foundation was set up to channel his annual royalties to musicians in Denmark and America. The Ben Webster Prize is part of this effort.

A native and lifelong resident of Denmark's second-largest city,Aarhus,he served as mayor from 2006 to 2011. On the national level,he has served as Minister of European Affairs (2011–2013) and as Minister of Defence (2013–2015).

Greater Copenhagen is one of the 12 multi-member constituencies of the Folketing,the national legislature of Denmark. The constituency was established in 2007 following the public administration structural reform. It consists of the municipalities of Albertslund,Ballerup,Brøndby,Gentofte,Gladsaxe,Glostrup,Herlev,Høje-Taastrup,Hvidovre,Ishøj,Lyngby-Taarbæk,Rødovre and Vallensbæk. The constituency currently elects 11 of the 179 members of the Folketing using the open party-list proportional representation electoral system. At the 2022 general election it had 371,085 registered electors.
