Bjarne Laustsen (born 19 December 1968) is a Danish politician,who is a member of the Folketing for the Social Democrats political party. He was elected into parliament in the 1998 Danish general election,having previously been in parliament between 1992 and 1994. He was on the municipal council of Støvring Municipality from 1986 to 1993. [1]

He led the Large-scale Programming Research department at Bell Labs,served as a professor of computer science at Texas A&M University,and spent over a decade at Morgan Stanley while also being a visiting professor at Columbia University. Since 2022 he has been a full professor at Columbia.
Bjarne Lykkegård Riis,nicknamed The Eagle from Herning,is a Danish former professional road bicycle racer who placed first in the 1996 Tour de France. For many years he was the owner and later manager of the Oleg Tinkov associated Russian UCI WorldTeam Tinkoff–Saxo. Other career highlights include placing first in the Amstel Gold Race in 1997,multiple Danish National Championships,and stage wins in the Giro d'Italia. On 25 May 2007,he admitted that he placed first in the Tour de France using banned substances,and he was no longer considered the winner by the Tour's organizers. In July 2008,the Tour reconfirmed his victory but with an asterisk label to indicate his doping offences.

Bjarne Goldbæk is a Danish former professional footballer and current sports pundit for Eurosport. An attacking midfielder,he played for a number of foreign clubs,including Chelsea and Fulham in England and several clubs in Germany. Laustsen has repeatedly collaborated with the Danish director Ole Bornedal on films such as Nightwatch and Just Another Love Story,and internationally with Guillermo del Toro,notably on the films such as Mimic,Crimson Peak,The Shape of Water,and Nightmare Alley,and with Chad Stahelski for the second,third and fourth films in the John Wick film series. Laustsen is also known for his work on the films Silent Hill and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen,where the visual side of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen was hailed as a "visual treat" in Variety.

It consists of the municipalities of Aalborg,Brønderslev,Frederikshavn,Hjørring,Jammerbugt,Læsø,Mariagerfjord,Morsø,Rebild,Thisted and Vesthimmerland. The constituency currently elects 15 of the 179 members of the Folketing using the open party-list proportional representation electoral system. At the 2022 general election it had 447,556 registered electors.

Agnete Laustsen was a Danish Conservative People's Party politician. She served as a member of the Folketing representing the Søndre Storkreds constituency from October 1979 to March 1998. Laustsen was appointed the first Danish Minister of Health by Prime Minister Poul Schlüter,a post she held between September 1987 and June 1988,and was subsequently appointed as the first woman to hold the position of Minister of Housing between June 1988 and December 1990. She was appointed Commander of the Order of the Dannebrog in 1989.
