The Red–Green Alliance or Unity List is an eco-socialist political party in Denmark. It was founded in 1989 with the merger of three Marxist parties and it is the furthest left-wing party in the Danish parliament, where it advocates for an expansion of welfare and social justice as well as socialist transformation in Denmark and internationally. During the 2021 Copenhagen City Council election the party placed first in the Danish capital Copenhagen, with 24.6% of the votes. The party is also active in various Danish trade unions.
Dan Jannik Jørgensen is a Danish politician of the Social Democrats who has been serving as Ministry for Development Cooperation and Global Climate Policy in the government of Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen since 2022.
Kristian Jensen is a Danish politician who was Minister for Foreign Affairs of Denmark from 2015 to 2016, Minister of Finance from 2016 to 2019 and Minister of Taxation from 2004 to 2010. Jensen is a member of the liberal party Venstre. He briefly served as acting chairman of Venstre in 2019. From 1998 to 2021 he was a member of the Folketing.
Helle Thorning-Schmidt is a Danish retired politician who served as the 26th Prime Minister of Denmark from 2011 to 2015, and Leader of the Social Democrats from 2005 to 2015. She is the first woman to have held each post. Following defeat in 2015, she announced that she would step down as both Danish Prime Minister and Social Democratic party leader. Ending her political career in April 2016, she was the chief executive of the NGO Save the Children until June 2019.
Johanne Schmidt-Nielsen is a former member of the Danish parliament for the Red-Green Alliance. Schmidt-Nielsen has been referred to as the "new queen of the Red-Green Alliance" by parts of the press. She now serves as secretary general for Save the Children.

Although the ruling Social Democrats became the largest party in the Folketing and increased their seat count, the opposition Venstre party was able to form a minority government headed by Lars Løkke Rasmussen with the support of the Danish People's Party, the Liberal Alliance and the Conservative People's Party.

The constituency was established in 2007 following the public administration structural reform. It consists of the municipalities of Herning, Holstebro, Ikast-Brande, Lemvig, Ringkøbing-Skjern, Silkeborg, Skive, Struer and Viborg. The constituency currently elects 13 of the 179 members of the Folketing using the open party-list proportional representation electoral system. At the 2022 general election it had 385,528 registered electors.
The Denmark Democrats is a right-wing populist political party in Denmark. The party was founded in June 2022 by Inger Støjberg, and is officially titled Denmark Democrats – Inger Støjberg. The party is currently in opposition to the second Frederiksen government.
The 2020 Danish mink cull, commonly known as the Mink Case or the Mink Scandal (Minkskandalen), was the government-mandated slaughter of all roughly 17 million mink that were being raised on farms for their fur in Denmark. The cull was in response to the detection of Cluster 5, an outbreak of a novel variant of SARS-CoV-2 in the mink, during the COVID-19 pandemic in Denmark. The cluster led to concerns that the potential of spillover to humans could reduce the efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines. The cull began on 4 November 2020. It later became clear that the cull orders had been given without legal authority, causing a political scandal.
