The Romanian Land Forces is the army of Romania, and the main component of the Romanian Armed Forces. Since 2007, full professionalization and a major equipment overhaul have transformed the nature of the Land Forces.

The Multinational Brigade South-East is an infantry brigade of the Romanian Land Forces. Until April 2017 the brigade was named 2nd Infantry Brigade "Rovine", but has since become one of Romania's contributions to NATO. The "Rovine" was deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq for peacekeeping missions.
The 8th Tactical Operational Missile Brigade, former 8th LAROM Brigade, is a Multiple Rocket Launcher brigade of the Romanian Land Forces. The brigade was named after the Romanian Domnitor Alexandru Ioan Cuza in 2006. It is the successor of three units: the 2nd Heavy Artillery Brigade, the 1st and 4th Heavy Artillery Regiments.
The 1st Maneuver Support Brigade "Argedava" is a brigade of the Romanian Land Forces. It was initially formed as the 36th Infantry Regiment, and named after the Moldavian Voivode Vasile Lupu.
The 81st Mechanised Brigade is a mechanised brigade of the Romanian Land Forces, established on 1 March 1995. The unit's headquarters are in Bistrița, and it is subordinated to the 4th Infantry Division "Gemina", with headquarters in Cluj-Napoca. It is named after Grigore Bălan, a brigadier general in World War II, who was killed in action during the liberation of Transylvania in 1944.
The 15th Mechanized Brigade is a mechanized brigade of the Romanian Land Forces. It was formed in 1 July 1994 from the ex 15th Mechanized Regiment, and named after the "Battle of Podul Înalt". The brigade is currently subordinated to the 4th Infantry Division, and its headquarters are located in Iași.
The 61st Mountain Troops Brigade "General Virgil Bădulescu" is a mountain troops brigade of the Romanian Land Forces. It was formed in October 1991. The brigade is currently subordinated to the 4th Infantry Division and its headquarters are located in Miercurea Ciuc.
The 10th Engineer Brigade is an engineer brigade currently operational within the Romanian Land Forces, and subordinated to the General Staff of the Romanian Land Forces.
The 1st Surface to Air Missiles Brigade "General Nicolae Dăscălescu", is the main air defense unit of the Romanian Air Force. Its headquarters are located in Chitila. The brigade was created on August 1, 1973, by merging the 18th and 19th Mixed Anti-Aircraft Artillery Regiments. In 1995, it received the honorific name "General Nicolae Dăscălescu", after the first commander of the 1st Anti-Aircraft Artillery Regiment and a new battle flag. The main task of the 1st SAM Brigade is Bucharest's air defense.

The Michael the Brave 30th Guards Brigade is a primarily ceremonial, as well as combat unit of the Romanian Armed Forces established in 1990. The Brigade also has a military music band, a drill team detachment, and an artillery battery. The military police unit of the Brigade guards certain special objectives of Bucharest. The Brigade traces its origins to the 1st Tirailleur Battalion, later Vânători Battalion, which was established in 1860.
Headquarters Multinational Division Southeast is NATO's command and control military body in the South-East region under the Multinational Corps Southeast. The operational control is handled by the Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR). The headquarters are located in Bucharest, Romania. Established on 31 August 2015, the HQ MND-SE is the restructure of the former Romanian 1st Infantry Division.
The 634th Infantry Battalion "Marshal Józef Piłsudski" is an infantry battalion of the Romanian Land Forces based in Piatra Neamț. It was formed on 2 April 1994 and is part of the 15th Mechanized Brigade. On 14 February 2020, it received the honorific name Marshal Józef Piłsudski, thus carrying over the traditions of the 16th Dorobanți Regiment "Józef Piłsudski".
