"Stutter" is a song by Canadian pop rock band Marianas Trench. It was released to radio airplay on December 4, 2012, as the fourth single from their third studio album Ever After . [3] The song peaked on the Canadian Hot 100 chart at number 28 and was certified double platinum in Canada in October 2016. [4] [5]

Composition

"Stutter" was written and produced by Josh Ramsay. The song is a gospel-inspired track with elements of pop music. [1] [2] Through a series of studio updates on their YouTube page for the making of Ever After , the band released a recording session of the gospel choir singing the song in 2011. [6]

Live performances

The band performed the song live at the 101st Grey Cup in 2012. [7]

Music video

The music video for "Stutter" was shot in downtown New Westminster, British Columbia on November 14, 2012. [10] The music video is a 1940s swing dance themed video. [10] The video premiered on MuchMusic Top 10 on December 17, 2012. [11]
