TVBS-NEWS or (TVBS-N) is a Taiwanese pay television channel, launched on 1 October 1995. It is the first 24-hour nationwide news channel to be launched in the country.

Pay television or subscription television are subscription-based television services, usually provided by both analog and digital cable and satellite television, but also increasingly via digital terrestrial, IPTV and internet television. Subscription television began in the multi-channel transition and transitioned into the post-network era. Some parts of the world, notably in France, Latin America and the United States, have also offered encrypted analog terrestrial signals available for subscription.

It was launched as BBC News 24 on 9 November 1997 at 5:30 pm as part of the BBC's foray into digital domestic television channels, becoming the first competitor to Sky News, which had been running since 1989. TVB News, formally known as the News and Information Division (新聞及資訊部), is the newsgathering arm of Hong Kong's Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB), responsible for different news programme in TVB Jade, Pearl and Finance & Information Channel, also the News Channel.

KTSF, virtual channel 26, is an independent Asian television station licensed to San Francisco, California, United States, and serving the San Francisco Bay Area. The station is owned by Lincoln Broadcasting Company. KTSF's studios are located on Valley Drive in south suburban Brisbane, and it shares transmitter facilities with Univision owned-and-operated station KDTV-DT atop Mount Allison. The Taiwanese local elections of 2010, commonly known as the Taiwan metropolitan elections of 2010, was held on Saturday, November 27, 2010, to elect the mayors, councilmen and ward chiefs of the five special-municipalities — Kaohsiung, New Taipei, Taichung, Tainan and Taipei administered directly under the central government of Taiwan. Mayoral candidates for the Kuomintang were elected in New Taipei, Taipei, and Taichung, while candidates for the Democratic Progressive Party were elected in Kaohsiung and Tainan.
