Tatum Keshwar (born 14 December 1983) is a South African fashion model, psychologist and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss South Africa 2008. She represented South Africa at Miss Universe 2009 and placed in the top 10. Keshwar also represented South Africa at Miss World 2009 and placed second runner-up. [1]

Biography

Born in Durban, Keshwar attended Mowat Park Girls High and received a degree in psychology from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. She was a finalist in the third period of the reality modeling contest Revlon Supermodel in 2007 prior to winning Miss South Africa on 15 December 2008. [2]

Miss Universe 2009

Keshwar represented her country in Miss Universe 2009 in Nassau, Bahamas where she made the finals and placed seventh overall. [3]

Miss World 2009

Keshwar placed among the top 12 at the Miss World Top Model fast-track event and became one of the Top 3 finalists during Miss World 2009 held on 12 December 2009 in Johannesburg, South Africa. Out of the seven delegates who competed at both Miss Universe and Miss World, Keshwar and Chloé Mortaud of France were the only two who placed in the semifinals in both competitions. Keshwar, who ranked one position lower than Mortaud at the Miss Universe pageant earlier that year, finished higher than her French counterpart, being named Queen of Africa and crowned second princess at the finale. Personal life

In 2013, rumors mistakenly linked Tatum Keshwar to Duduzane Zuma, son of Jacob Zuma. In reality, Tatum is married to businessman Warren Wheatley, and together they have a son. Tatum is also a qualified psychologist, holding a degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. [5]

Miss South Africa is a national beauty pageant in South Africa that selects South African representatives to compete in one of the Big Four international beauty pageants Miss Universe, and also selects another representative to participate in Sub-major international pageant Miss Supranational. The Miss South Africa organisation resorted to a contemporary format in selecting representatives which was inaugurated in 2018. Following their newer method, both a Miss World South Africa and a Miss Universe South Africa were selected as representatives. From 2021 onwards, the winner of Miss South Africa will be competing in Miss Universe, and Miss Supranational. The current Miss South Africa 2023 is Natasha Joubert. On May 11, 2023, the Miss South Africa Organisation has lost its license as a Miss World licensee holder to Carol Bouwer Productions, which has taken over the license of Miss World South Africa pageant.

Miss South Africa 2009 was held on 13 December 2009 in Sun City, South Africa. The winner represented South Africa at Miss Universe 2010 and Miss World 2010. Twelve contestants competed for the crown. Nicole Flint was crowned by the outgoing titleholder, Tatum Keshwar from Durban.

Miss South Africa 2022, the 64th edition of the Miss South Africa pageant was held on Saturday, August 14 , 2022, at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria. Incumbent winner, Lalela Mswane of KwaZulu-Natal crowned Ndavi Nokeri of Limpopo as her successor. Nokeri will go on to represent South Africa at Miss Universe 2022 where she placed as Top 16.

Miss Grand South Africa 2016 was the second edition of the Miss Grand South Africa beauty pageant, held on August 6, 2016, at the Atterbury Theatre, Pretoria. Seven candidates, who qualified for the national pageant via an online screening performed earlier in April, competed for the title, and a professional model from the province of Limpopo, Caitlin Harty, was elected the winner, while the Mpumalanga representative, Precious Khoza, and the Gauteng representative, Thando Tsiane, were named the first and second runners-up, respectively. Harty then represented the country at the Miss Grand International 2016 pageant held in Las Vegas, United States, on October 25, but was unplaced.
