The earliest temples in Telangana include the Alampur Navabrahma Temples built during the 6th century CE by the Badami Chaulukyas.

The Kalyani Chaulukyas built several temples in modern-day Telangana including the Ramalingeswara Temple, Nandikandi.

Kakatiya architecture was developed during the reign of the Kakatiya dynasty between the 12th and 14th centuries. Prominent Kakatiya temples include the Ramappa and Thousand Pillar temples, as well as the Kota Gullu temple complex. The Karmanghat Hanuman Temple in Hyderabad is also dated to this period, however, the current temple structure is a later construction.

The Birla Mandir, Hyderabad was constructed between 1966 and 1976 as one of several temples built by the Birla family.

Narasimha, sometimes rendered Narasingha, is the fourth avatar of the Hindu god Vishnu. He is believed to have incarnated in the form of a part-lion, part-man being to kill Hiranyakashipu, to end religious persecution and calamity on earth, thereby restoring dharma. Narasimha is often depicted with three eyes, and is described in Vaishnavism to be the God of Destruction; he who destroys the entire universe at the time of the great dissolution (Mahapralaya). Hence, he is known as Kala (time) or Mahakala (great-time), or Parakala in his epithets. There exists a matha (monastery) dedicated to him by the name of Parakala Matha at Mysuru in the Sri Vaishnava tradition. The Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple or simply known as Yadadri or Yadagirigutta temple, is a Hindu temple situated on a hillock in the small town of Yadagirigutta in the Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district of the Indian state of Telangana. Yadadri temple is touted as Telangana's own Tirupati. The temple is dedicated to the god Narasimha, an avatar of Vishnu.

Sai Shiva Balaji Mandir is a Hindu temple dedicated to Sai Baba of Shirdi. It is located at Dharmapuri in the Karimnagar district of Telangana in India. The temple is located on the banks of the Godavari river. The temple was built for the Shri Sai Shiva Balaji Mandir Trust by the trustees Shri V. Narsimha Shastry and his youngest son V.N. Pravin Shastry to spread the message of Sai Baba of Shirdi. The foundation stone was laid in 1994.

The Yogananda Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple, also known as Mattapalli Narasimha Temple, is a Hindu temple dedicated to Narasimha, the half-man half-lion avatar of Vishnu, and his consort Lakshmi. It is located in Mattampally, a village in the Mattampally mandal of Suryapet district in the Indian state of Telangana. One of the Pancha Narasimha Kshetras, the temple is located on the banks of the Krishna River, and was built in the 11th century by Anumala Machi Reddy, the king of Thangedu region after the deity appeared in his dream and instructed him to do so. The main shrine houses a swayambhu (self-manifested) idol of Narasimha as Yogananda Lakshmi Narasimha, and was worshipped by sage Bharadvaja and other seers for hundreds of years before the temple was constructed. Lakshmi is worshipped here as Rajalakshmi Thayar and Chenchu Lakshmi Thayar.
