The Texas Football Classic was a high school football event that took place at the beginning of each football season at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. It was started in 1999 by the staff of Dave Campbell's Texas Football , an annual football publication that highlights every high school, college, and professional team in the state of Texas. Since then, it has grown from three games to five and spans three days, usually over Labor Day weekend.
Among the notable players that have participated in short history of the Classic are former Texas Longhorns and former Chicago Bears running back Cedric Benson, former Houston Cougars and current Buffalo Bills quarterback Kevin Kolb, former Iowa Hawkeyes quarterback Drew Tate and former Missouri Tigers quarterback Chase Daniel. The Texas Football Classic was not planned for 2011 due to a lack of resources. [1]
Texas German is a group of German language dialects spoken by descendants of German immigrants who settled in Texas in the mid-19th century. The Oil Bowl is a high school football all-star game in Wichita Falls, Texas. The game began in 1938, originally between East and West Texas high school football all-stars. In 1945, the game began pitting teams from Oklahoma and Texas, and continued in that format until 2012. In 2013, a dispute concerning the disposition of Oklahoma's share of the game's charitable proceeds led the Oklahoma Coaches Association to withdraw from the game, and the 2013 game matched two Texas teams. For the years in which Texas and Oklahoma teams played, the overall record was 46-19-1 in favor of Texas.

Calallen is a town that existed until the 1960s. After the 1960s, the town of Calallen became part of Corpus Christi. Therefore, the northwest part of Corpus Christi is better known as Five Points. The 1994 Texas A&M Aggies football team represented Texas A&M University in the 1994 NCAA Division I-A football season. The Aggies completed the season with a 10–0–1 record overall and a Southwest Conference record mark of 6–0–1.
