The IdeaFirst Company (TIFC), commonly known as IdeaFirst, is a Filipino film, television production company and talent agency founded in 2014 by filmmakers Jun Robles Lana and Perci Intalan. The company focuses on film and television production, as well as artist management. [1]

Background

The IdeaFirst Company was founded on April 1, 2014 by filmmakers Jun Robles Lana and Perci Intalan. [2] Lana formerly served as the Creative Director for GMA Network, while Intalan was an Executive Producer for Walt Disney and the former first Vice President for Entertainment for TV5. [3] The two filmmakers left their prior positions to co-found the company. [4]

The company has engaged in partnerships with mainstream Philippine film studios such as Viva Films, Star Cinema and Regal Entertainment, as well as internationally with Netflix. [5] The company is atypical in that it signs directors as well as actors. [6]

Rodolfo R. Lana Jr., known professionally as Jun Robles Lana, is a Filipino filmmaker. The winner of 11 Palanca Awards for Literature, he became the youngest member of the Palanca Hall of Fame in 2006. In 2015, he directed the actual one-shot film, Shadow Behind The Moon, which won the Best Director, NETPAC and FIPRESCI awards at the 13th Pacific Meridian Film Festival. At the 20th International Film Festival of Kerala, he won the Best Director award for the same film.

Hosted by Cesar Montano and Marvin Agustin in cooperation with the Asian Academy of Television Arts (AATA), it premiered on July 30, 2012. Die Beautiful is a Filipino LGBT comedy-drama film produced and directed by Jun Robles Lana and co-produced by Ferdinand Lapuz and Perci M. Intalan, from a story by Jun Lana and screenplay by Rody Vera. It stars Paolo Ballesteros as Trisha, a trans woman who suddenly died after she was crowned winner of a gay beauty pageant and her friends who transform her into a different person on each night of her wake in a different location as a way to avoid being buried as a man by her father. It also tackles her whole life when she felt and dealt with problems and successes on living as a Filipina transgender as well as controversy in her family.

Christian Mercurio Bables, is a Filipino actor. He was declared Best Leading Actor at the 5th Hanoi International Film Festival for his character "Intoy" in the movie Signal Rock. He was also given a Best Supporting Actor Award at the Gawad Urian Awards for his trans woman character "Barbs" in the movie Die Beautiful.
