The Sandon School [1] is an 11-18 mixed comprehensive academy school of approximately 1250 students. It serves a rural area on the outskirts of Chelmsford, Essex, England, and previously specialised in Maths and Computing.

History

The Sandon School opened in 1955 and became an academy in 2011. [2]

The school has also had multiple sex offenders over time, [3] [4] with another and latest conviction in March 2024 for extreme pornography from a teacher who worked at the school from September 2020 to November 2020 [5]

In March 2018 an Ofsted inspection found it to be a good school. [6]

The school has a 25-hour teaching week. Jo Wincott, headmaster since 2004, retired in the summer of 2018. [7] He has been succeeded by Andrew Weaver (2018–Present)

The Billericay School is an academy secondary school and sixth form college located in Billericay, England. The school is led by headmaster Patrick Berry and has an enrollment of 1713. As part of the Billericay Education Consortium the school forms part of a grouping considered to provide the best teacher training in the country according to the Good Teacher Training Guide. According to Ofsted the school is "an over-subscribed Mathematics and Computing specialist school mainly serving the town of Billericay but also drawing students from Basildon and nearby areas". Philip Morant School and College is a secondary school and sixth form with academy status located within the Prettygate suburb of Colchester, Essex. The Hathaway Academy, formerly the Grays School Media Arts College, is a coeducational, non-selective secondary school with academy status that is located in Grays, Essex, England. It is currently part of the Academy Transformation Trust. A school has existed on the Hathaway Road site since 1931, when the John Henry Burrows Central Council School moved from nearby Bridge Road. The school became a secondary technical in 1945 and a comprehensive school in 1971. In 1993, it was given grant-maintained status and was renamed the Grays School. In 2004, it specialised and became the Grays School Media Arts College, which closed in June 2013 with the subsequent opening of the current academy-status school.
