Tendring Technology College is a secondary school with Sixth Form College located in Essex, England. It is one of the six secondary schools in the Tendring district, along with Clacton Coastal Academy, Clacton County High School, Colne, Manningtree High School and the Harwich and Dovercourt High School.
The college has been rated 'Inadequate' by Ofsted in 2021. [1] The Academy is currently subject of a Termination Warning. [2]
The academy was previously led by Mike Watson, however in 2004, he went into early retirement after twenty years at the school, and was replaced by Caroline Hayes. [3] Caroline Hayes remained Principal of Tendring Technology College for 12 Years before stepping down in 2016. Michael Muldoon became the Principal in 2016. Muldoon resigned as head teacher in May 2021, following on with Mr Burt as the principle currently. [4]
The academy saw extensive building work at its Frinton Campus in 2003 when new departmental buildings were erected. One of these new buildings, the Watson building, was named after former Principal Michael Watson and is currently occupied by the performing arts department. After a long battle the academy secured the funding for a £2.8 million state-of-the-art Sixth Form Centre, [5] which is based at the Frinton Campus site and reached completion in September 2011. The new building features facilities such as a media suite and social area, as well as extra teaching space. Tendring Technology College was one of only several schools to receive such finding from the Learning Schools Council. This follows previous upgrades to the Frinton Campus, which created new teaching space, a new Resources Centre and exterior improvements.
On the 25-27th of May 2021, Teachers and Staff of the school went on Strike action due to a planned restructure by the Trust [6] [7]
On the 2nd of January 2023, Footage emerged of a student being attacked by a group of boys, and hospitalised. [8]
By the 23rd of July 2024, The school had the highest amount of pupils suspended in Essex. [9]

Burnt Mill Academy is a secondary school academy and specialist performing arts college situated on First Avenue in Harlow, Essex, England. The school originally opened in May 1962 as Burnt Mill Comprehensive School, de jure keeping this name until academisation in 2011. In 2003, it became a specialist performing arts college, specialising in dance, drama and music. It joined the Confucius institute programme in 2007, partnering with Suzhou Lida Middle School in Jiangsu, China. This granted the school an International School Award. The Orsett Heath Academy is a coeducational secondary free school academy in Grays, Essex, England. It is the newest member of the South West Essex Community Education Trust and was built under the leadership of nearby William Edwards School. Plans to build the new school were approved in April 2017 and it opened in September 2020. Simon Bell of William Edwards is the executive headteacher and the head of school is Sian Rawson.
