Raoul Dufy was a French painter associated with the Fauvist movement. He gained recognition for his vibrant and decorative style, which became popular in various forms, such as textile designs, and public building decorations. Dufy is most remembered for his artwork depicting outdoor social gatherings. In addition to painting, he was skilled in various other fields, including drawing, printmaking, book illustration, scenic design, furniture design, and planning public spaces.

Musée Marmottan Monet is an art museum in Paris, France, dedicated to artist Claude Monet. The collection features over three hundred Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings by Claude Monet, including his 1872 Impression, Sunrise. The museum's fame is the result of a donation in 1966 by Michel Monet, Claude's second son and only heir.
The Unterlinden Museum is located in Colmar, in the Alsace region of France. The museum, housed in a 13th-century Dominican religious sisters' convent and a 1906 former public baths building, is home to the Isenheim Altarpiece by the German Renaissance painter Matthias Grünewald and features a large collection of local and international artworks and manufactured artifacts from prehistorical to contemporary times. It is a Musée de France. With roughly 200,000 visitors per year, the museum is the most visited in Alsace.
Claude Monet painted several series of nearly 100 impressionist oil paintings of different views of the Thames River in the autumn of 1899 and the early months of 1900 and 1901 during stays in London. One of these series consists of views of the Palace of Westminster, home of the British Parliament, and he began the first of these paintings at about 15.45 on 13 February 1900. All of the series' paintings share the same viewpoint from Monet's window or a terrace at St Thomas' Hospital overlooking the Thames and the approximate canvas size of 81 cm × 92 cm. They are, however, painted during different times of the day and weather conditions.

Water Lilies is a series of approximately 250 oil paintings by French Impressionist Claude Monet (1840–1926). The paintings depict his flower garden at his home in Giverny, and were the main focus of his artistic production during the last thirty years of his life. Many of the works were painted while Monet suffered from cataracts.
Joseph-Théodore Deck was a 19th-century French potter, an important figure in late 19th-century art pottery. Born in Guebwiller, Haut-Rhin, he began learning the trade in his early 20s, moving to Paris at age 24. In 1856 he established his own faience (earthenware) workshop, Joseph-Théodore Deck Ceramique Française, and began to experiment with styles from Islamic pottery, and in particular the Iznik style.
The Musée des Beaux-Arts de Rouen is an art museum in Rouen, in Normandy in north-western France. It was established by Napoléon Bonaparte in 1801, and is housed in a building designed by Louis Sauvageot and built between 1877, and 1888. Its collections include paintings, sculptures, drawings and objets d'art.

Coucher de soleil no. 1 is a work executed in a mosaic-like Divisionist style with a Fauve palette. The reverberating image of the Sun in Metzinger's painting is an homage to the decomposition of spectral light at the core of Neo-Impressionist color theory.
Le Pont aux Anglais, soleil couchant is an oil painting created in 1905 by the French artist Robert Antoine Pinchon (1886–1943). Associated with the new generation of l'École de Rouen Pinchon executed this work in a Post-Impressionist style with a subdued Fauve or Neo-Impressionist palette of golden yellows and incandescent blues. The dynamic image of the train in Pinchon's painting is an homage to the emerging industrialized world.

Normand Landscape is an oil painting by the French artist Pierre Bonnard, from 1920. It is held in the collection of the Unterlinden Museum in Colmar, Alsace. It depicts a landscape in Normandy, in a vertical format. The motif was painted from memory in the artist's studio, not en plein air. The painting was bought as soon as it was finished, in 1920, by the gallery Bernheim-Jeune, from which it was bought six decades later by the Société Schongauer which administers the Colmar museum.
Still-Life with a Parrot is a 1907 oil painting by the French artist Robert Delaunay, today in the collection of the Unterlinden Museum in Colmar, Alsace. A first version of the same motif, but in a more mosaic-like design, nowadays belongs to the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in Madrid, Spain. The Colmar painting is a manifestation of the young artist's interest in Michel-Eugène Chevreul's theories on colours, and one of his first experimental works. The painting had belonged to the art dealer Louis Carré (1897–1977) and was bought after his death by the Société Schongauer which administrates the museum since its foundation.
The Tempelhof Altarpiece is an oil on panel painting from circa 1445, by the German artist Jost Haller, today in the collection of the Unterlinden Museum in Colmar, Alsace. It had originally belonged to the commandery of the Order of Saint John, also called the Tempelhof, of Bergheim near Colmar, where it was used as a church altarpiece. After it was confiscated in 1793, at the height of the French Revolution, it became "state owned", before eventually becoming an item of the museum's collection.
Pink Nude is a gouache painting on paper fixed on canvas by the French artist Raoul Dufy, from 1930. It is held in the collection of the Unterlinden Museum in Colmar, Alsace. The painting is one of the more than 120 works of French modern art that were bequeathed to the museum by the collector, French journalist Jean-Paul Person (1927–2008), in 2008. Pink Nude depicts a sitting woman on a sand-coloured ground and in front of a blue background; the scenery may be a beach. Dufy painted this work in his Montmartre studio, impasse de Guelma, as part of a series of female nudes that he launched himself into in 1930, at the height of his maturity.
